When the programme starts Activity residential In their first week, your son/ daughter goes away for five days with their group for an outdoor adventure experience. They will take part in a range of challenges and adrenaline fuelled activities. These activities are designed to take them out of their comfort zone so that they can build confidence and develop essential employability skills, such as teamwork, decision making, and leadership.

Building skills During the following week, your son/daughter will be reunited with their team mates for a further five days away from home. Throughout this time, they will develop important life skills, find their independence, and get to know their community better.

Social action project Finally, your son/daughter will put all these skills into practice by designing a social action project with their team. The project will then be delivered over 30 hours and will make a real mark on their local community. The experience gained from this stage of the programme will really help their CV, UCAS or college application stand out. When your son/daughter delivers their social action project it will not always be supervised by NCS staff. This is to help them to be responsible and practice the skills they have learnt in the previous weeks. Graduation & Celebration Event This is a chance for you to come along and find out what NCS has all been about! Celebrate your son’s/ daughter’s achievements at their graduation ceremony and see how they can continue their journey with NCS. This year’s ceremony will be taking place on Saturday 8 October at The Rheged Centre near Penrith. POWERED BY
