PARKING ENFORCEMENT
The City of South El Monte utilizes Public Safety Officers to enforce California Vehicle Code, South El Monte Municipal Code and Uniform Fire Code relating to parking violations in the City. The objective is to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorist who use private and public passages.

HOW TO REPORT A PARKING VIOLATION
Is there a vehicle in your neighborhood violating a parking ordinance? Parking violations may be reported by:
Calling the Public Safety Center
Call the Public Safety Center at (626) 652-3111 to report parking violations.
City Website
Visit the City’s website at cityofsouthelmonte.org to report parking violations. Click on the Online Service Requests button on the home page, enter “Parking Enforcement.” Make a request for parking enforcement, provide the time and location of parking violation, enter the type of violation, submit a photo and click on the “Submit” button. The request will be sent to Parking Enforcement personnel.
HOW TO CORRECT AN EQUIPMENT VIOLATION (5200 OR 5204(A) CVC)
If the citation is an equipment violation (5200 or 5204(a) CVC), the fee can be paid, or the violation can be corrected. The violations below are considered “fix-it tickets” and need to be corrected plus the CERTIFICATE OF CORRECTION on the back of the cite needs to be completed by going to any Police, Sheriff, CHP Station or the South El Monte Public Safety Center. • Section 5200 CVC - Front and/or rear license plate not properly mounted and displayed • Section 5204(a) - Expired Registration Tabs If the violation has been corrected and the CERTIFICATE OF CORRECTION on back of the citation has been properly signed-off, the fee will be reduced to $10. Note: For Section 5204(a), the current registration tabs must be affixed to the license plate before the citation can be signed-off by a Peace Officer. A copy of the registration is not sufficient even though the registration fees may have been paid to the DMV.
HOW TO PAY A CITATION

HOW TO CONTEST A PARKING CITATION
Use your mobile device with the “GORequest” application. Simply open the application, select new issue, choose “Parking Enforcement,” provide the time of parking violation, enter the type of violation, take a picture, and tap “Submit” – the application picks up the location and sends the issue directly to the City’s Parking Enforcement Department.
To contest a parking citation, a request for an Administrative Review must be made in writing within 21 days of the issuance date or within 14 days of the mailing of the Notice of Delinquent Violation.
Send the proper amount of citation by check or money order, payable to the City of South El Monte. Enclose the parking citation along with your payment and mail to:
