As spring approaches, we look forward to a time of newness, and the great City of O’Fallon has new things to be excited about.
First, as you look at our quarterly newsletter, you will see a new look and design. The new O’FallonLife quarterly magazine & recreation guide will serve as your one-stop for all things O’Fallon. We hope you enjoy the new layout, and we look forward to featuring more things O’Fallon throughout the year.
Another new, or shall I say renewed program, is our singlestream recycling pilot program. As many of you remember, prior to 2018 we had singlestream recycling, but changes made internationally impacted how we could recycle here in O’Fallon. As a result, we placed recycle bins at several City buildings. Since then, your O’Fallon City Council and City staff have been committed to bringing this service back to our great city. I am happy and thankful for our staff’s persistence because we once again have single-stream recycling in O’Fallon! Read more about this on page 4.
Of course, we welcome back some of our favorite annual events to O’Fallon this spring. Whiskers & Wags will take over Civic Park on Saturday, May 3. Be sure to bring your favorite four-legged friend, or maybe take one home from the adoption expo! Everyone loves the annual Public Works Fair held at Ozzie Smith Sports Complex. Join us on May 21 where you can see the equipment and meet the staff that do a wonderful job keeping our city running smoothly. And of course, kiddos can have a chance to sign a new snow plow blade that will surely be used next winter to keep our streets clear on those cold wintery days.
The Jammin’ Concert Series will heat up Civic Park starting on May 27 and will run every Tuesday evening through August 5 (except July 8). We always look forward to seeing the lineup coming to the park. For some indoor fun, join us at the City Hall Theatre for SIX: Teen Edition on the weekends from June 6 – 17.
I hope you enjoy this redesigned quarterly newsletter, and I want to thank you for being a part of this wonderful O’Fallon community. Because of you, O’Fallon remains a great place to live, work, and play!
Sincerely,
Bill Hennessy, Mayor

The City of O’Fallon is excited to reintroduce single-stream recycling through a new pilot program launched on March 4th, 2025. This initial program began with residents who have recycling pick-up on Tuesdays. Over the next few months, the City plans to expand the program to include more residents. For those who have not yet been added to the program, recycling guidelines will remain the same for the time being, with the accepted items staying consistent with current practices.
As the next phases of the program launch, customers will receive a postcard in the mail, detailing the program and informing them about the arrival of their new recycling cart. To stay informed on the progress of the pilot program, residents are encouraged to follow the City of O’Fallon on social media and subscribe to our weekly e-newsletter. As more residents are included in the program, they will receive helpful information and find it on our website at www.ofallonmo.gov/recycling.
April is Global Volunteer Month! O’Fallon volunteers are essential to our city’s success. Their service empowers positive change, impacting everything from city departments and environmental projects to recreation, public events, and leadership on boards and commissions. They build a stronger community. In April, and always, we celebrate these selfless volunteers who make O’Fallon a better place.

The O'Fallon Public Works Fair provides an engaging glimpse into the often-unseen world of city infrastructure. Providing young residents with a hands-on understanding of how everything works, from the roads they travel on to the water they drink. This isn’t just a static display; it’s an interactive experience designed to spark curiosity and foster an appreciation for the complex systems that keep O’Fallon running smoothly.
Children can climb into the driver’s seat of the large vehicles they often see working around town. Imagine the excitement of sitting behind the wheel of a snowplow, a backhoe, or even a garbage truck! And, of course, no visit to the Public Works Fair is complete without a ride on the City Train, a
The Public Works Fair is an experience that is both entertaining and educational, making it a popular field trip destination. This event can serve as a valuable opportunity to introduce young residents to the importance of infrastructure. It's also an opportunity for residents to better understand and appreciate the often unsung heroes who keep our city running smoothly.
The Public Works Fair stands as a testament to the City's dedication to transparency, education, and community engagement. As O'Fallon continues to grow, events like these play a vital role in strengthening the bond between the community and those responsible for its infrastructure.

The City of O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Departments welcomes people of all abilities to participate in our programs and services. If you or someone you know has a disability and you would like to participate in one of our programs, please let us know how we can best meet your needs. The City of O’Fallon fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in making reasonable accommodations to facilitate participation. The Parks and Recreation Departments is involved in a St. Charles County-wide Recreation Inclusion Partnership, which provides an Inclusion Coordinator to assist with these accommodations. All O’Fallon residents are eligible for resident rates on facility rentals, programs, and admissions with a Resident Privilege Account. Apply for your free Resident Privilege Account at the Renaud Center. Residents ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a resident parent or resident guardian to obtain a Resident Privilege Account. The account expires one year from the date issued.
“Residents” are people who live within the City of O’Fallon’s corporate limits. City limits and Post Office boundaries are not the same, so it is possible to have an O’Fallon address, yet live outside the City, or have a postal address in an adjacent municipality, yet live in O’Fallon.
Dardenne Prairie residents are eligible for the discounted O’Fallon resident pricing for memberships! Ask about receiving the discount when you register.
If you’re employed in the City of O’Fallon, you qualify for a discount on a membership at the Renaud Center. The Corporate Membership program is available to full and part-time employees (but not seasonal or temporary employees, sorry), who work for a business, non-profit, or government agency in O’Fallon city limits.

• Missouri driver’s license or identification card
• College student identification card
• Military identification card
In addition, residents need one of the following with the same address as the photo ID:
• An unpaid utility bill
• A personal check with pre-printed name and address
• A current auto or voter registration
• A current personal property tax statement
• The most recent personal income tax statement
• A current rental lease agreement
• A “resident family” is defined as 2–5 people* living at the same address within O’Fallon city limits.
• A “non-resident family” is defined as 2–5 people* living at the same address outside of O’Fallon city limits.
• All family members must be declared when a family account is established. Inappropriate use of membership ID and/or privileges may result in termination or suspension of the membership.
*Additional individual family members (ages 3+) may be added to a Renaud Center membership at the cost of $25 for residents, $50 for nonresidents.
To help those with disabilities benefit from all the choices offered by the Parks and Recreation Departments, Inclusive Recreation Coordinator Brita Weight will work directly with participants, families, caregivers, friends, teachers, and Parks and Recreation Department staff to resolve concerns and ensure that appropriate individualized accommodations are in place. Through open communication and by working cooperatively, challenges to inclusion can be overcome. Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to:
• Modifying activities
• Changing staff-to-participant ratios
• Providing staff training

To ensure success in the O’Fallon Swim Academy, it’s important to register children for the appropriate level. Children who have participated in the swimming program should register according to the last class successfully completed, moving to the next class or skill level when all skills from the previous level are mastered. Some classes may seem repetitive, but we want swimmers to perfect their skills in order to advance safely, not quickly. Children learn at different paces and it is common to repeat a class.
Parent or guardian participation in the water with the child is required. Children will enjoy learning basics of water safety and participating in a swim class. Parents/ guardians will learn how to safely guide their child and help them advance at their own pace. Min/Max: 3/8.
This transitional class is for children who have passed Starfish but are not yet ready to be away from mom or dad just yet. Swimmers gain confidence and independence as they master introductory skills and learn safe practices. Parents/ guardians will participate in the water during the first 2-4 classes. Min/Max: 3/8
Prerequisites: At least 2 years old or completion of Starfish. Swimmers who successfully complete Pufferfish can: swim/ bob underwater with assistance, following directions, swim independently of parent/ guardian, and jump in without assistance.
CHILDREN MUST PASS THE PREVIOUS SWIM LEVEL, OR BE ABLE TO COMPLETE TASKS FROM PREVIOUS LEVEL TO MOVE UP

The Seahorse class continues to build your child’s independence and confidence in the water to prepare them for Level 1: Jellyfish. Min/Max: 3/6.
Swimmers who successfully complete the Seahorse level can: float on their front and back, retrieve a chest deep object, jump in, and self-propel 10 feet without assistance, and blow bubbles out of their nose
This level builds on basic swimming skills, reinforces independent swimming, and introduces the freestyle and backstroke. Min/Max: 3/6.
Swimmers who successfully complete Level 1: Jellyfish can: swim 8 feet of freestyle, slide on front, and self-propel 15 feet without assistance, and retrieve an object from bottom of the pool with assistance.

Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over.
SIX: Teen Edition includes all songs from the original version, with reimagined lines and lyrics to minimize suggestive language and alternate line changes to reframe UK references for a US audience.
When Ethel Savage’s late husband leaves her a small fortune, she decides to make the best of it, establishing a fund to support various dreamers with whimsical aspirations. But her three greedy stepchildren – a socialite, a senator, and a judge – commit her to a mental institution. Ethel befriends the other “guests,” a colorful crew of kind, generous and delusional souls. With warmth, humor, and dignity, The Curious Savage celebrates those who are often overlooked, emphasizing kindness, affection and, empathy in a world that too often rewards greed and ambition.
