The First Steps

Pre-Planning Checklist

Visit or call the City of Murrieta Planning Department Identify the zone(s) where your business can operate. View the zoning map on page 10 of this guide, or online here

Discuss the applicable development standards (parking, signs, operationals)

If you plan to make tenant improvements, renovations, or install equipment, contact the Building and Safety Department to determine if you need to submit plans or get building permits

Register Your Business &/or Complete the Legal Structure

If using a Fictitious Business Name or DBA (doing business as), you will need to register with the Riverside County Clerk's Office
