Teach A Kid To Fish 2021
High Point Parks and Recreation’s annual “Teach A Kid To Fish” event is always a big hit! Participants learned about boating safety, types of fish, how to bait hooks and tie knots, casting techniques and the importance of conservation. Tahjier Sayer won the trophy for the most fish caught in the 5 - 7 age group with a total of one fish and one turtle. K.J. Williamson caught the biggest fish of the 5 - 7 age group with a 6.5” bluegill. Brooks Hewitt caught the biggest fish of the 8 - 11 age group, also with a 6.5” bluegill. Big thanks to Get Outdoors, NC Wildlife Commission, Piedmont Environmental Center, Matt Morgan Bait Company, GASP, Food Lion, Harris Teeter and all the volunteers who helped make a rainy morning so much fun for these junior anglers!
