GALLERY SHOWCASE: LEA BLACK, PASTELS

Artist statement: As far back as I remember I have always enjoyed creating some form of art. My current passion is Soft Pastels. I was introduced to this medium when many years ago I took a class offered by local artist Joyce Powers through the City of Healdsburg’s Park and Rec department. As that class ended so did my art journey until recently when I picked it up again during COVID lockdown. While I don’t have any formal art training I have taken opportunities to educate myself in the medium as much as I could. I have taken online SRJC Older Adult Pastel classes and have also completed many online zoom workshops with extraordinarily talented artists. In the past year, I had several pieces accepted into local and national juried exhibits. I also participated in my first Open Studios weekend this past fall in Morgan Hill.

Display Dates: Opening reception March 1, 2023. Show on Display through June 30, 2023
