Volunteer Opportunities
The volunteer program is a multifaceted service that captures the generous spirit of Healdsburg by providing volunteers an opportunity to give back to their community. The Volunteer Program provides a one-stop-shop for community members who are looking to contribute, as well as information and reference materials for Healdsburg businesses seeking volunteers. Volunteers can donate their time and talents to programs such as:
Dash Volunteer Driver Program
DASH (Drivers Assisting Seniors in Healdsburg) is a door-through-door service that allows senior citizens aged 60+ remain vibrant and engaged in the Healdsburg community. Volunteers can sign up for a shift to provide a free, scheduled ride to isolated seniors to medical and social appointments in a city-owned vehicle.
Support Staff During Community Special Events
Support staff during the many City sponsored and partnered events such as Tuesdays in the Plaza, Art After Dark, The Grind, Senior Appreciation Dinner, Dia De Los Muertos, and more.
Provide Administrative Support At The Senior Center
Support Senior Center operations by working the front desk and providing a welcoming experience by answering phones, greeting the public, and assisting customers.

ACTIVE ADULTS (55+ years)
Active Adult Sports
For adults looking for some fun, competition and camaraderie consider joining one of the Healdsburg recreational sports teams. Practice sessions are non-judgmental with opportunities to learn the game as a beginner with the support from like-minded (and bodied) peers. There is no age requirement to participate, just a registration/participation form and any required fees. So get outside, make new friends and have some fun while getting fit.
THE PRUNE PITS - HEALDSBURG’S 60 (OR BETTER) ACTIVE ADULT SOFTBALL CLUB

Love to play softball, but feeling a bit out of practice? Join the Prune Pits and get back into the swing of Americas favorite pastime. This is a new club of active players, 60 & older, who want to exercise with a friendly game of softball. All levels of experience are welcome. These informal get-togethers will have balls and bats provided. Players are responsible for gloves and other personal equipment. Register at the Senior Center. Questions? PICKLEBALL (18+ years)
A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple, and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. A fun sport that combines may elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.

DROP-IN PING PONG (all ages)
Table tennis (aka ping pong) is one of the world’s most popular sports. It offers a lot more than just enjoyment – ping pong is a great form of cardiovascular exercise that is gentle on joints, improves hand-eye coordination and stimulates concentration. Playing as little as just 30 minutes of ping pong can help improve your health and wellbeing. Stop by the Center for a game (or two) and reap all the benefits of the game.

Senior Strength Training
The benefits of strength training are many, particularly as you grow older. In this program of predominately seated exercises, you will use lightweight dumbbells and resistance bands to improve overall strength and flexibility in a relaxed and supportive environment. Basic equipment is provided.

Gentle Yoga
Restart or renew your yoga practice! Standing and floor positions emphasize breath and balance, flexibility and focus. NOTE: Not a beginner class; some experience required. Bring your own: yoga mat, blanket, belt and (optional) block.

Walking Club For All Ages
Stay fit and have fun walking and talking in this friendly group. These 30-minute walks are on paved surfaces through Healdsburg. Walks start and finish at the Senior Center, and all ages are welcome to join.
