Construction Complete Kammerer Road Now Open!

The 2.3-mile stretch of Kammerer Road between Lotz Parkway and Bruceville Road is now open. Completed in December, the new roadway increases safety and meets current standards with wider lanes and shoulders, medians, and a comprehensive drainage system to direct roadway drainage towards ditches and the storm system retention basins. Improvements also include the realignment of the Kammerer Road and Bruceville Road intersection, streetlights, and the extension of Lotz Parkway to Kammerer Road. The project was funded by the State Road Repair and Accountability Act and the City’s Roadway Fee Program. It is also part of the Capital Southeast Connector linking Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Folsom, and El Dorado Hills. For details, visit kammererroad.org.

Hats Off to Jeff

“A man never stands so tall as when he kneels to help a child.” Someone once spoke these wise words, which absolutely apply to local hero Jeff Alley. At the October 13, 2021, City Council meeting, Jeff was recognized by the Disability Advisory Committee as going above and beyond for individuals with disabilities in our community for his work with Project R.I.D.E. A volunteer and Board member of the non-profit, Jeff has been tireless in supporting and instructing kids with disabilities during their horseback therapy sessions, arranging special riding session and even checking in on the kids to see how they’re doing during his non-volunteer days. Through his work, he has become a cheerleader, friend, mentor, and role model to all those he serves. Hats off to Jeff for all you’ve done, for those you’ve helped, and for those you inspire.
