LOOK AFTER YOUR ENVIRONMENT

This is the City you live in, the suburb you call home, the parks, reserves and streets you walk and enjoy.

Just like your home, our public spaces are a place for you to spend time in. Give them the care and respect you would your home.

The closest bin may be full. Please try another bin nearby or even better, take your rubbish home with you. Help to keep our parks and reserves tidy and litter free.

Dog waste bags are provided in many of our public spaces if you forget one. Pick up after your dog to keep our spaces clean and safe for others.

The initiative offers residents, schools and businesses the opportunity to purchase 10 locally indigenous plants for just $10 to help green gardens across our City.

These plants are suited to local conditions and will beautify your backyard, help cool your garden, provide food and shelter for native wildlife and spark joy all year round.

Plants, trees and green space all play a vital role in cooling our urban environment and mitigating the effects of climate change. This program is another way that we are working together with our community to green our City now and into the future and we encourage you to considering including a tree when choosing your plants.

You can get advice about species selection and helpful growing tips from a horticultural expert at one of our two collection days at our Civic Centre on Saturday 1 April and Saturday 3 June or directly from our partnering nursery Provenance Indigenous Plants.

Our library service will also be hosting the “Get Your Garden On” extravaganza featuring amazing presenters to inspire you to become a greening guru. Visit our website for further details charlessturt. sa.gov.au/10for10

Our new plants may be small, this helps them grow and establish to the conditions they live. Walk around the garden beds and leave them be so they can grow big and fill the space.
