Welcome to our first edition for 2023. As Autumn sets in, I would like to take a moment with you to reflect on the precious environment we live in. Take a walk around your local neighbourhood, enjoy the parks and open spaces and appreciate the City that we call home. Our city is abundant with green spaces and with your support we can help them to thrive.

We are grateful to have many passionate and committed people helping to maintain over five hectares of community gardens across our City. Read more about these spaces on page 6 and find out how you can connect with others in your local community.

We recognise with excitement our Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards recipients. Our diverse and culturally rich City is abundant with community members doing extraordinary things

Building a strong and connected community is important to us and we want to know what’s important to you. Help shape the future of our City and guide our decision making. Over the coming months, we will begin to develop a new 4 year Community Plan and we want your involvement. Find out how you can be part of this process on page 10.

In addition, we will be consulting on our Annual Business Plan and Budget in April. This is your opportunity each year to guide our decision making on the work we will complete in 2023/24. Your feedback is vital to ensure we are delivering and providing a range of programs and services across our City. I encourage you to please get involved. You can provide your feedback online or join us at our dropin session detailed on page 10. Take opportunities to be engaged and connected in our community. Your voice is important and valued.
