VOLUNTEER COACHES SEEKING GREAT

VOLUNTEER COACHES are the backbone of youth sports and make our youth sport programs possible.

Please join us in providing a positive and fun-filled sports experience for the children in our community. Each team needs a coach to conduct practices and direct players during games. All volunteers who provide direct services to children must pass a background check. Upon completion of a successful season, volunteer coaches will receive a credit (cost of youth sports registration) to use towards future programs.

So don’t wait—fill out your volunteer application now so you are ready to start right along with the team! To continue serving our community we need your help and support.

Visit buckeyeaz.gov/sportsleagues to fill out an application.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that in 1978, an archaeological excavation at the Van Liere site in Liberty uncovered eight Hohokam houses? These homes, dating from 1 AD to 1450 AD, each featured a fireplace and measured 8’x20’. The dig was conducted prior to the construction of a pipeline for a nuclear plant, and along with the homes, many tools, pottery, and trade items were discovered. Today, the Buckeye Valley Museum showcases many of these fascinating artifacts.
