As we approach Building Safety Month in May, the City of Boynton Beach is excited to promote awareness and education about the critical importance of building safety in our community. With an increasing focus on safety, our team has developed a comprehensive and engaging strategy aimed at individuals of all ages, ensuring that the key messages surrounding building safety are not only communicated effectively but also create a lasting impact Our efforts will emphasize the importance of building structures that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also structurally sound and safeforthewell-beingofallwhousethem.
Adjacent to the children’s library, we will set up an interactive, hands-on display designed to captivate and educate our youngervisitors.Thischild-friendlyexhibitwillfeature:
Engaging coloring books that illustrate essential building safetyprinciples
Fun, interactive safety badge stickers to reinforce and remindyoungvisitorsofkeysafetymessages
Toy hard hats to inspire a tactile, hands-on experience, allowing children to connect with safety concepts in a playful,memorableway
Through these activities, we aim to instill a lifelong appreciationfortheimportanceofbuildingsafety,startingata youngageandfosteringresponsible,safety-consciouscitizens inthefuture
Outside the commission chambers, we will place a dedicated display board geared toward educating our adult community members Thisexhibitwillprovide:

Visualaidsdesignedtohighlightbestpracticesandsafety protocolstofollowinbothhomeandcommercialsettings
Resources to encourage further learning and involvement in local building safety initiatives, empowering individuals to take action in their own homes, businesses, and workplaces

Looking ahead, the City of Boynton Beach Economic Development Division is gearing up for several exciting initiatives this quarter that will further support and engage the local business community

Additionally, Mentor Mondays will continue through May and June, offering personalized guidance for entrepreneurs and small business owners On June 5, Business Over Brews will provide a relaxed after-hours networking opportunity for local professionals The Small Business Academy Workshop returns on June 18, equipping business owners with practical tools, resources, and expert insights to support growth The quarter concludes with a Job Fair on June 25, aimedatconnectinglocalemployerswithqualified candidates and strengthening the workforce pipeline

This quarter, the City of Boynton Beach Economic Development Divi initiatives to strengthen the local business community.
Mentor Mondays, a monthly initiative in partnership with SCORE Palm Beach, continued in January, February, and March, offering free one-on-one guidance from seasoned business experts. On January 7, the Division also partnered with Prospera to provide bilingual Small Business Consults, extending accessible mentorship to a broader audience. Additionally, Prospera led the Small Business Academy Workshop on March 13, helping entrepreneurs better understand local resources and develop strategies for sustainable growth.
3-Day Workshop Series: Feb. 13, 20, & 27
The quarter concluded with the successful launch of the City’s first Entrepreneurship Academy, held in partnership with SCORE Palm Beach, Dreamcatcher Mindful Marketing, and Ascendus. Of the 56 individuals who enrolled and attended single sessions, 30 graduated from the three-day program. Participants represented a diverse range of ventures—from future restaurants and therapy practices to insurance agencies and online retail operations. The Academy provided clarity on planning, marketing, and financing, reinforcing the City’s commitment to fostering informed and resilient small businesses ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY
Boynton Beach Economic Development continues to gain steady momentum in the social media landscape. As we move into 2025, our Q1 growth reflects ongoing efforts to connect with the community and highlight local business activity.
On LinkedIn, we gained 146 new followers between January 15 and April 14, 2025. Impressions reached 10,302, indicating continued visibility among business professionals and community partners.
Our Facebook page reached 42.8K views and achieved a reach of 17.3K, reflecting strong interest in our programs and initiatives. Engagement remains consistent, with 659 content interactions and 241 link clicks during the quarter
Instagram grew by 135 followers and recorded 27.8K views. Reach climbed to 9.5K, highlighting ongoing success in connecting with the community through visual storytelling and event promotion.
On February 6, 2025, we hosted Business Over Brews at The Bungalow Bar & Grill at 511 NE 4th St, Boynton Beach, FL 33435 This evening event brought together entrepreneurs, business owners, and local professionals for relaxed networking, engaging conversation, and communitybuilding all in support of Boynton Beach’s thriving business scene.

The "House of the Month" program celebrates homeowners who meet or exceed Boynton Beach's property maintenance standards. Recipients enjoy several benefits, including an exclusive yard sign designating their property, a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant, and a photo opportunity in front of their home with the sign.
