In September, the City of Boynton Beach proudly received a Silver Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for our Development Annual Report during the Annual Conference in Detroit, MI. This honor highlights the momentum of our growing community and the teamwork driving our success.

Adding to this milestone, the Economic Development Plan was officially approved, and we launched the new Discover Boynton Beach video, showcasing our city as South Florida’s rising hub for business, innovation, and quality of life.

Upcoming Public Engagement Workshop

Comprehensive Plan Update

The City of Boynton Beach invites all residents, business owners, and stakeholders to participate in a Public Engagement Workshop on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, Room 112.

As part of the City-wide Comprehensive Plan Update, this workshop will focus on key elements that shape our community’s future, including Future Land Use (FLU), Housing, and Transportation. This is a valuable opportunity for the community to share their vision, priorities, and ideas to help guide how Boynton Beach grows and evolves.

Your input will help shape a plan that ensures we plan today to thrive tomorrow. We look forward to hearing your voice and working together to build a stronger, more vibrant Boynton Beach.

Swale & Shoulder Maintenance Reminder

Property owners are responsible for maintaining the swales and shoulders adjacent to their property the area between the property line and the edge of the street unless it is maintained by the City, Palm Beach County, or another agency Swales must be kept free of debris, overgrowth, and obstructions

Not Allowed: Objects that alter the design or function of swales, rights-of-way, or alleys.

Allowed (with proper approval): Grass, sod, ground cover, shrubs, palms, trees (with City approval), postal mailboxes, and small solid objects that meet City standards.

Maintaining these areas prevents flooding, improves neighborhood appearance, supports stormwater drainage, and ensures safe access for pedestrians and vehicles. For approval or ordinance questions, contact the Code Enforcement Department at (561) 742-6000.

EconomicDevelopment Programs and Events

The Economic Development Division advanced its mission through targeted initiatives designed to engage residents, support small businesses, and strengthen workforce connections. Prospera provided tailored assistance to Hispanicowned businesses, while the division hosted its second annual Small Business Summit and continued the Small Business Academy both offering valuable educational opportunities to help local businesses enhance operations, plan for growth, and remain competitive.

Meanwhile, the Business Over Brews series gained momentum, bringing together diverse professionals for casual networking paired with interactive activities and prize giveaways fostering stronger, more meaningful connections within the business community.

Grand Openings

Boynton Beach continues to experience dynamic commercial growth with the recent opening of several diverse businesses The Spot Barbershop opened its doors on July 17, 2025, bringing a modern grooming experience to the community. On August 7, Quirky Native Thrift and Gift launched, offering unique secondhand treasures while supporting local charities and artists year-round Most recently, on September 19, Disc of America began serving patients with non-surgical, non-invasive spinal decompression therapy for those experiencing back, neck, and disc-related pain. Each new business has drawn local interest and highlights the city’s ongoing economic momentum and entrepreneurial spirit

Our digital presence reached new heights this quarter, with record engagement across platforms fueled by fresh strategies rolled out in September

LinkedIn: Impressions skyrocketed to 956,860 a 292 8% jump from last quarter’s 115,419 The surge was especially strong in September, when new storytelling and business-focused content captured wide attention
