












From April through June, the City of Boynton Beach continued to support sustainable growth and enhance its position as a dynamic location for business and residential and commercial development This report provides a snapshot of ongoing initiatives, project milestones, and departmental efforts aligned with the City’s development goals.
Throughout the quarter, the Development Team focused on advancing active projects, expediting review processes, and improving customer service delivery These efforts contribute to a more responsive and efficient development environment that encourages investment and fosters economic vitality.
Highlights include updates on zoning and permitting activity, private development contributions, and internal initiatives designed to strengthen operational performance.
The Development Team remains committed to service excellence, transparent processes, and creating a strong foundation for Boynton Beach’s continued growth.
During National Small Business Week (May 4–10, 2025), Economic Development launched its first-ever Business Quest a fun, interactive campaign designed to spotlight local businesses and engage the community. Residents and visitors followed clues to discover participating businesses, earning prizes while exploring Boynton’s vibrant commercial landscape. The initiative boosted visibility for small businesses and reinforced the City’s creative commitment to supporting local entrepreneurship.
Throughout May 2025, the City also observed Building Safety Month, sharing educational materials to promote awareness of building codes, inspections, and safe construction practices that contribute to strong, resilient neighborhoods.
A major milestone was reached on May 9, 2025, with the groundbreaking of The Villages, a mixed-use development in Downtown Boynton Beach. Led by Edgewater Capital Investments, the project includes 336 residential units, more than 8,000 square feet of commercial space, public plazas, a linear park, and over 600 parking spaces This development marks a transformative step in downtown revitalization and continued private investment.
Some members of our Development Services team attended the Florida Association of Business Tax Officials (FABTO) Conference in Orlando from May 27 through May 30, 2025. Led by Palm Beach Chapter President Mr Lionel Mesadieu, the team earned first place in a statewide contest for their creative and informative table display Congratulations to ou FABTO Conference State Champions.
From June 2 through June 6, 2025, the Cit observed Code Enforcement Week, recognizing officers who help maintain safety and community standards A Community Standards Workshop was held on June 23, 2025, at City Hall to educate the public on permitting, signage, and compliance
The June Job Fair, hosted in partnership with CareerSource Palm Beach County, drew over 150 attendees and connected job seekers wit major employers such as Publix, the Schoo District of Palm Beach County, and Palm Beac County government, among others expandin local career opportunities across multiple industries.
This quarter also marked the release of two new publications. The 2025 Hurricane Readiness Guide for Businesses which includes preparation tips and emergency contacts for the season. The Boynton Beach Medical Guide helps residents navigate local healthcare options by specialty.

The Economic Development Division advanced its mission through targeted programs that engaged residents, supported small businesses, and strengthened workforce connections Mentor Mondays with SCORE Palm Beach County provided individualized guidance for entrepreneurs, while bilingual consultations with Prospera offered tailored support to Hispanic-owned businesses. The department also hosted two workshops Tax Readiness for Small Businesses and White Label 101 highlighting the value of educational opportunities in helping local businesses improve operations, plan for growth, and stay competitive
Business Over Brews events continued to gain momentum, drawing diverse groups of professionals for casual networking enriched with interactive activities and prize giveaways that encouraged deeper connections
Through the Vacant Storefront Program, one new installation was completed this quarter, enhancing the front windows of an empty commercial space with vibrant, professionally designed artwork This initiative aims to improve the visual appeal of vacant properties and contribute to a more welcoming and attractive streetscape along Boynton Beach’s commercial corridors.
Boynton Beach welcomed several new businesses that reflect the city’s growing commercial diversity Second Rodeo Lounge, a vibrant cocktail kitchen, opened on April 1, followed by Sprouts Farmers Market on April 4, offering thousands of natural, organic, and gluten-free grocery items. On April 11, Talkin’ Tacos brought its fast-casual Mexican dining experience to the community, and Planet Smoothie wrapped up the quarter with a May 31 opening, serving a wide variety of smoothie options Each opening attracted local interest and showcased Boynton Beach’s continued economic momentum
On LinkedIn, impressions soared by 1,122 8% to 115,419 Engagement continued to climb with 833 reactions (+54.3%) and 49 comments (+113%), further boosting visibility in our professional network
Our Facebook views reached 75.9K (+173.1%), and reach climbed to 16.5K (+20.8%). Content interactions totaled 1,660, reflecting a 324 6% increase in community engagement

On the third Friday of each month, Community Outreach selects a location requiring litter cleanup In the afternoon, the Community Standards team focuses on cleaning these areas, removing substantial amounts of trash and debris.
The Community Standards Department hosted an educational workshop to inform residents and businesses about the City’s most common code violations and updates to local ordinances. The session aimed to promote awareness and encourage community-wide compliance, supporting a cleaner and safer Boynton Beach.
The House of the Month program recognizes homeowners who meet or exceed the City’s property maintenance standards, enhancing the overall appearance and livability of Boynton Beach By celebrating their efforts, the program encourages others to take pride in their homes, contribute to neighborhood beautification, and help build a stronger sense of community Honorees receive a custom yard sign, a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant, and a photo opportunity in front of their home
