The programs offered in this department are designed to provide knowledge and experience in the pure and applied areas of, computer science, information science and information technology. Beyond this, the department seeks to imbue in its students Christian values, moral soundness, and professional ethics. These, along with the theories and applications of logic programming and problem solving through practical applications, will fit the students for service in all branches of science, business, and the humanities.

OBJECTIVES The Department of Computer and Information Sciences aims to:  instill and exemplify Christ-like principles of order, honesty, integrity, and selfless service,  prepare students for jobs in the multi-faceted areas of information technology, computer science and information science,  provide foundation work for advanced study,  facilitate the development of pace-setters in technology,  provide computing services and resources for students, staff, and faculty, and  provide the community with courses that will introduce and enhance practical knowledge of computers.

RESEARCH INTERESTS: Software testing, parallel programming, design patterns, refactoring as one kind of program transformation, programming languages and compilers, IST and its impact on curriculum & instruction.

PROJECTS  ReAssert, 2011 - A tool that can automatically suggest repairs for broken unit tests. Examples include replacing literal values in tests, changing assertion methods, or replacing one assertion with several.  CADI, 2007 – An e-Learning solution that facilitates collaboration and distance education that transcends language barriers by allowing individuals to seamlessly communicate and share messages, course notes, and other text based material regardless of the language of origin.  NEUGEN, 2006 – A nutrition and health management application that educates and promotes healthier lifestyles.
