NOVEDADES / SOMETHING NEW CAOBA CIGARS ES RECONOCIDO POR EL MINISTERIO DE TURISMO POR IMPLEMENTAR NORMAS DE CALIDAD TURÍSTICA EN LA CIUDAD COLONIAL El Ministerio de Turismo de la República Dominicana (MITUR) colocó un sello “precalificativo de calidad” a empresas de servicios turísticos que operan en la Ciudad Colonial que han iniciado el proceso de implementación de buenas prácticas y oportunidades de mejora para fortalecer los servicios y la oferta del centro histórico como destino.

Uno de estos negocios reconocidos es la tradicional fábrica de tabacos Caoba Cigars que tiene sus instalaciones en la calle del Conde, frente a la Catedral Primada de América y que ya ha completado la primera auditoría interna, la cual confirma que han iniciado la implementación de las herramientas propias del Sistema de Calidad Turística.

CAOBA CIGARS IS RECOGNIZED BY THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM FOR IMPLEMENTING TOURIST QUALITY STANDARDS IN COLONIAL ZONE

El Sistema de Calidad Turística es un proyecto que impulsa el Programa de Fomento al Turismo en Ciudad Colonial (PFTCC) y el Viceministerio de Calidad del Mitur como parte de los trabajos de remodelación que se ejecutan con fondos del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), cuenta con la participación de los consultores especialistas en gestión de calidad del consorcio español Euroinvest-Codexca-A&C.

The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic (MITUR) has placed a seal “quality prequalification” to tourism service companies operating in the Colonial Zone that have begun the process of implementing good practices and opportunities for improvement to strengthen the services and offer of the Historical Centre as destination.

The Tourism Quality System is a project that promotes the Program for the Promotion of Tourism in Colonial City (PFTCC) and the Vice Ministry of Quality of MITUR as part of the remodeling work carried out with funds from the InterAmerican Development Bank and has the participation of consultants specialized in quality management of the Spanish consortium Euroinvest-Codexca-A & C.

LA ASOCIACIÓN DE PRODUCTORES DE CIGARROS DE LA REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA PRESENTÓ LA DÉCIMA VERSIÓN DEL FESTIVAL PROCIGAR

Mesa Principal con los principales Miembros de PROCIGAR En una rueda de prensa celebrada en el Hotel Hodelpa Gran Almirante de la ciudad de Santiago, la Asociación de Productores de Cigarros de la República Dominicana anunció la celebración de la décima versión del Festival Procigar, que tendrá lugar del 19 al 24 de febrero del 2017, en un recorrido por Bávaro, La Romana y Santiago, congregando a fabricantes, fumadores de cigarros, distribuidores, importantes Medios de Comunicación y relacionados de la industria, procedentes de países de América, Asia y Europa.

En su presentación, el presidente de la Asociación, Sr. Hendrik Kelner, expresó: “Este año la Asociación cumple 25 años, la importancia de este Festival radica en dar a conocer nuestra cultura y nuestra riqueza. Por 23 años ininterrumpidos, la República Dominicana ha sido el país mayor exportador de cigarros Premium del mundo y el pasado año 2016 nos pusimos a la cabeza como el mayor exportador de cigarros hechos a máquina. Este año

celebramos la 10ma versión de un Festival que ha invertido 200,000 millones de pesos en sus actividades y ha otorgado beneficios de 27 millones de pesos a instituciones sin fines de lucro, a la vez que miles de visitantes han conocido el feliz pueblo que es República Dominicana, su cultura, su gente”.

THE ASSOCIATION OF DOMINICAN CIGAR MANUFACTURERS PRESENTED THE TENTH PROCIGAR FESTIVAL EDITION

At a press conference held at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante Hotel in Santiago city, the Association of the Dominican Cigar Manufacturers announced the celebration of the tenth version of the Procigar Festival, which will take place from 19 to 24 February 2017, in a tour of Bávaro, La Romana and Santiago, bringing together manufacturers, cigar smokers, consumers, retailers, important media and industry associates, from countries in America, Asia and Europe.

In his presentation, the Association president, Mr. Hendrik Kelner, said: “This year the Association turns 25 years, the importance of this Festival lies in publicizing our culture and our wealth. For 23 uninterrupted years, the Dominican Republic has been the largest exporter of premium cigars in the world and in 2016 we came to the fore as the largest exporter of machine-made cigars. This year we celebrated the 10th version of a Festival that has invested 200,000 million pesos in its activities and has granted benefits of 27 million pesos to non-profit institutions, while thousands of visitors have met the happy country that Dominican Republic is, its culture, its people”.
