Spiritual Health & Wellbeing
Health is not just the absence of disease, it is a state of physical, psychological, social and spiritual wellbeing”
Wellness is thought of today as encompassing mind, body, and spirit. This includes our physical, mental, emotional, sexual, social, and spiritual health. Spiritual wellness embodies faith, beliefs, values, ethics, principles and morals. This section sets out the spiritual activities, groups and organisations in or close to Winchcombe.

Churches Together in Winchcombe
Churches Together in Winchcombe is where the 4 churches in the town come together to seek God, share the gospel and serve the community. CTW is a community organisation with a reputation for serving the whole neighbourhood. Our projects are designed to benefit people of any faith or none and have included gift bags, fish & chip meals and spring bulbs for those shielding during the Covid pandemic; and tea parties to help older, isolated residents emerge from lockdown.
Regular activities include The Way of the Cross on Good Friday, joint worship during the World Day of Prayer each March and the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity each January and fundraising for Christian Aid and Macmillan Cancer support. Spiritual Health& Wellbeing
Methodists have been worshipping in Winchcombe since John Wesley’s days. We are renowned for our love of congregational singing; the joys of meeting together for food and company; involvement in community service; non-conformism and the strong lay involvement of the congregation in organising the local church within the formal structure of national Methodism. We meet for worship every Sunday at 10.30am when worship is led by clergy or local preachers. Once a month a member of the clergy leads a service of Holy Communion. We hold Wednesday Group, a women’s meeting, every other week and a house group fortnightly on a Tuesday. Connections, an afternoon of board games, jigsaws, tea, coffee and chat, is held every Thursday from 2pm onwards. All are welcome. Members of the congregation are involved in various charitable activities such as Pancake Day fundraising, card making for the Cobalt appeal and management of the local Day Care Centre. We are active in Churches Together in Winchcombe and host CTW’s Meeting Point drop-in coffee morning every Thursday (see entry for Meeting Point in Section 5a).
