Pulhams Coaches firm runs the 606 bus along a route between Cheltenham, Bishop’s Cleeve, Winchcombe, Broadway, Willersey and Chipping Campden. The buses run mainly half hourly between 08.00 and 18.00. 08.00 is earliest departure to Winchcombe from Pittville Street, Cheltenham and 07.36 the earliest departure from Winchcombe Medical Centre to Cheltenham.
In addition, the 656 Pulhams bus operates between Dumbleton, Winchcombe and Bishop’s Cleeve terminating at Tesco car park in Bishop’s Cleeve. This bus operates on Mondays and Fridays only. It leaves Winchcombe Library at 10.11and returns from Tesco Superstore Car Park at 12.00. Many Pulhams Services now accept contactless payments. We run a pre-booked community driving and companion service for anyone (elderly, disabled, children) who is unable to drive, to enable them to maintain their independence. We have two cars in the area, one of which is a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Gloucestershire/Warwickshire Steam Railway
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is a volunteer-operated heritage railway offering a round trip of 28 miles. It uses part of the route of the former Great Western Railway’s main line from Birmingham to Cheltenham via Stratford-upon-Avon. It now operates steam and heritage diesel trains between Cheltenham Racecourse and Broadway through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cotswolds. Winchcombe Station offers the Coffee Pot café, open between 10am and 4pm on train-running days (see Section 8). Trips can be planned to stop at stations along the route for a length of time. There are steam and diesel trains available. Timetables vary from day to day so please check website for details. There is a contact form on the website for enquiries. A journey on this railway makes an enjoyable day out for residents and visitors alike.
