Structure creates space; climate determines the program
The idea takes inspiration from phototropism and the hierarchical structure of mushroom pileus to re-arrange re-distribute corridors and balconies spaces such that climatically favorable activity sites can be created across the day for enhanced social interaction. To achieve that, a moderation between the contradiction of light and wind was infused in the prototype. Creating collective social spaces in the individualized private dwelling that involved reconciling the terminative qualities of the balcony with the transitionary tendencies of the corridor seems unlikely. Thermal comfort is a durable determinant for the execution of place within programmatic space, what’s more, space without
programs. By privileging the openness qualities of light and the moderating influence of wind directionalities against the excesses of insolation, these symbiotically related climatic variables can generate hierarchical territories of thermal comfort across the day
