The Exodus journey is the story of God rescuing his people from bondage and leading them towards freedom and land of promise. This Old Testament story in the book of Exodus is not unlike our personal story and our Journey with Christ; as he rescues us from the bondage of sin and frees us through the redemption of His blood. However, in the space from bondage to freedom - there lies the Journey. In this study, we will experience the calling on the life of Moses as God desires to use him as the tool that will bring freedom to his fellow Israelites. However, throughout this story we’ll also learn that in order to lead his people to freedom Moses must know how to listen for God’s voice. 1. Do you consider yourself a good listener? What voices do you listen to? 2. What does it mean to listen to God? 3. Read Exodus 3:2-4. How would you respond if God appeared to you in a such a way? 4. In this passage, Moses responds “Here I am,” meaning that he was available to God’s call. How have you responded to God’s calling in your own life? (relational, financial, vocational) This weekend Pastor Bill reminded us of some things that we could do to hear God’s voice (Sunday worship, daily time in scripture, joining a group. Etc.) 1. Which of these practices can you apply in order to give better focus and attention to God? 2. Read 1 Samuel 3: 7-10. How did Eli instruct Samuel to pray? How do you pray and hear His voice? 3. Are you willing to respond to God’s call in a similar manner? Why or why not?
