
1. INTRODUCTION
At Castle Hill RSL Club Ltd (CHRG) we prioritise the protection and security of anyone attending our venues including, team members, members, visitors and contractors. As such, we engage security personnel and have numerous CCTV cameras installed across our venues.
The provision of security personnel and use of CCTV greatly assists CHRG in providing a safer workplace and safer venues.
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines as to the use and storage of video and audio recordings.
This policy applies to all team members of CHRG.
2. CCTV CAMERAS
CCTV Cameras are installed throughout our venues and are in operation 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
The video security system offers the following benefits to us all:
It acts as a deterrent to would-be offenders within and surrounding our venues.
It enables us to identify persons responsible for offences.
It improves the overall security of our venues by facilitating live monitoring of operations.
It enables CHRG to review events/incidents quickly.
Recorded video footage may be used:
In Court (criminal or civil) as evidence against any person involved in criminal or illegal activity.
In Court (criminal or civil) as evidence to support or refute a charge or claim of wrongdoing.
To aid in the investigation of specific allegations of misconduct or illicit conduct from staff or patrons.
To assist the Police in any manner that they require.
To assist our leaders to effectively manage our venues.
To create a database of persons of interest who frequent our venues who may at a future time pose a threat to the organisation or its staff and members.
In training scenarios to assist in training and development of team members.
Recorded video footage will not be used:
As an ongoing mechanism to monitor employee performance.
2.1.Recording and Storage of Video Footage
Images from CCTV cameras are recorded onto Digital Video Recorders.
The system will be recorded 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
Recorded footage will be stored and archived for a significant period of time; the precise period varies from weeks to permanent.
2.2.Access
Access to CCTV controllers and recorders will be limited to authorised users.
2.3.Privacy
All video footage will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and:


Cameras will not be installed or used in toilets, showers or change rooms.
3. AUDIO / VIDEO RECORDING
Please be aware that meetings may be recorded for the purposes of record keeping or making transcripts. Recordings will not be published or supplied to external parties unless required for the purposes of legal advice or proceedings, police review, safety requirements etc
No employee is allowed to make a recording of a meeting via video conference or in person without a managers’ consent.
4. BREACH OF THIS POLICY
Breaches of this policy may result in counselling and or disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
5. REVIEW OF THIS POLICY
This policy will be reviewed every two years to ensure it remains consistent with all relevant legislative requirements, as well as the changing nature of the company or more frequently where legislative requirements are changed or amended.
6. POLICY COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION
This policy will be stored on CHRG’s intranet site. It will be incorporated into induction/onboarding programs and CHRG will conduct education sessions on the application and operation of this policy as required and when any changes to the policy are implemented.
