- high school academies During the 2021-22 school year, CVTC continued to expand academies within our region. New this year, CVTC partnered with local and rural school districts to offer its first Virtual Business Management associate degree academy to current high school freshmen. We expanded our College Transfer academy offerings to include a virtual offering and a River Falls offering this fall. In addition, we have added a virtual Healthcare academy and graduated the first cohort of Medical Assistant high school students.
Construction Academy in Eau Claire to allow students the opportunity to explore careers and navigate their interests. CVTC, in partnership with many school districts, has been fortunate to receive many different grants supporting high school academies that have afforded districts these new opportunities.
In 2022-23, we will be expanding our Pre-Nursing Healthcare academy to be offered at Mayo hospital in Osseo. This academy is helping to meet the needs of rural districts and helps students get a jump start on their post-secondary nursing and other health programs. In addition, we have added a Welding and Residential Construction academy in Osseo and a Residential
- dual credit options Articulations Transcripted credit allows high school students to earn college credit at their high school. This is accomplished through transcripted credit agreements arranged between the high school districts and CVTC.
CVTC assisted high schools in purchasing items such as science lab equipment, industry software, and other supplies.
Transcripted credit courses are CVTC courses taught in high school by certified high school instructors using the technical college competencies and grading scale. These credits are transferable to any Wisconsin Technical College and may also transfer to a four-year college.
Start College Now The Start College Now program allows all public high school juniors and seniors who meet specific program requirements to take classes at CVTC. This program offers credit toward both high school graduation and a college degree.
With the inclusion of dual credit in the 2021-2022 strategic goals, CVTC increased efforts to create and support transcripted credit courses within our district. There were 367 transcripted credit agreements and 530 running sections. In an effort to defray the cost of course development, equipment purchases, and maintenance,
