I was seventeen and entering my senior year of high school when I applied to the Emergency Medical Technician program through CVTC. This free, year-long program required some sacrifice of my time, but it led to many opportunities. Since graduating high school with my EMT degree, have had the chance to work in Memory Care & Hospice, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, and Public Health. These experiences pushed me to develop my personal and professional identity outside of ongoing education and continue to support me as I navigate medical school today.

My daughter joined the college transfer academy in her senior year and earned a full year of college credit. This experience not only provided college credits but also prepared her for the rigors of college, making her transition smoother. We appreciate the partnership between the school district and CVTC. I highly recommend this program for students considering a four-year university. The education was exceptional, and the chance to spend senior year as a college student is invaluable.

has provided our students with various opportunities, from “test driving” programs to see if they genuinely meet the student’s career interests to completing an associate degree in their field of choice. Dual credit has allowed students to complete college much quicker and save money. This year, we had 35 seniors graduate with 1,073 college credits from CVTC. That’s an average of over 30 credits per student! A parent stopped in last week and thanked the district for saving their child over $21,000 in
