partners a message to our k12

Chippewa Valley Technical College is proud to prioritize partnerships with our K12 districts, ensuring students have seamless pathways from high school to college and into rewarding careers. Together, we’ve expanded dual credit opportunities, saving families tuition costs while preparing students for future success.

By working collaboratively, we’ve opened doors to college for a diverse student population across our 11-county district. Programs like High School Academies and career-specific pathways have empowered students with skills and experiences that align with workforce needs, paving the way for meaningful career opportunities.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to ensuring equitable access for all students. Using data to guide our efforts, we’ll continue refining pathways and scaling initiatives that support both student participation and achievement in dual enrollment.

This publication highlights our shared work in advancing equity and access. Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to student success. Together, we can transform lives and strengthen our communities through education and opportunity.

Charlie joined the CVTC Residential Construction Academy during his senior year of high school. Today, he’s working in construction and striving to become a project manager.

“I took all the construction classes I could at Memorial. There wasn’t much more I could do, and I wanted to do more in the field. I always built stuff on the side. Taking the classes at CVTC would be a good way to be more independent and do more in construction. It matures and develops you in a way that will change you for the rest of your life and help shape your future.”

Grant earned a Business Management Associate Degree at CVTC in high school, allowing him to complete a bachelor’s in two years, paving the way for his current success as a law student at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.

“I think my beginning, my CVTC education at such a young age, was necessary for me to build the confidence to be able to excel in a four-year university environment. And I really needed those instructors who were committed to handson education and small class sizes. They really set me up for success.”

Madeline began her journey in the CVTC Healthcare Academy, which led her to the EMT Academy. She later earned a FireMedic associate degree and now serves as a Firefighter Paramedic with the Stevens Point Fire Department.

“I discovered my passion for emergency services while taking an EMT class at CVTC. I took the EMT course rather than high school (classes), and I immediately fell in love with it. I think I changed my program, like, within the week that I had my first class. You receive so much valuable experience, and they can bring anecdotal information to the classroom experience.”
