T
he death of a community is a systematic and tragic occurrence. It often begins when property owners and residents who were once vested in that community decide to move out. Viable businesses and employment opportunities dissipate. Businesses close down or move out of the community, taking those jobs with them. With block after block of vacant and abandoned properties, added by a lack of job opportunities, the economic engine of a community can become stagnated. Resources become limited and the neighborhood becomes a breeding ground for crime.
