1. How are students, staff, and faculty being screened before returning to campus?
Each person entering the Cheyney University Campus are required to submit to temperature-taking (100.4 or below) to determine the basis of access for individuals requesting and/or requiring access to the Cheyney University Campus, and issuance of visitor credentials.

2. What social distancing measures have been put in place in the classrooms, residence halls, Dining Hall, and Snack Bar?
In general, six-feet of separation should be kept between people interacting within Cheyney University Campus. This recommendation is important in any setting where there is close contact of people whose symptom status may be hard to monitor. All Cheyney University Campus classrooms have been set up for social distancing as of July 15, 2020. Classrooms have been limited to 20-30 students, depending upon the size of the classroom.
The Cheyney University leadership team have worked closely with our dining services partner, Thompson, to socially distance the Ada Georges dining hall and the Snack Bar. Our strategy has been effective since its inception in March 2020. We have added additional layers of social distancing to students’ meals. We are asking students to, as much as possible, stagger
mealtimes in order to reduce the number of students in the dining hall at any given time. When students do enter Ada Georges Dining Hall for meals, they will be asked to do the following: • Enter through the main entrance on the east side of the building; students will be expected to socially distance while in line. • Students will then proceed through the line, gather their meals, proceed through the dining hall, and depart through the west side of the dining hall. Students will observe six-feet of space with staff and/or other students while departing the dining hall. • The Housing and Residence Life team are continuously working on creative ways to provide direction, safe programming and activities for our students. others in their residential space. Additionally, Cheyney University staff encourage students to wash their hands upon entering and leaving the classroom or program space. They will create regular cleaning practices for frequently used items such as desks, program equipment, writing utensils, and other programmatic materials.
3. How will the University enforce state mask requirements?
Students and staff will be reminded that in accordance with Pennsylvania law Cheyney University requires all staff, students, and campus visits to wear face coverings. There are no exceptions to this requirement. You will not be permitted to enter the Cheyney University campus without wearing a face mask and you must wear it for the duration of your stay.
4. What are the details for Fall 2020 Move-In?
All Students and their parent(s) will pull into the Airport
Parking Lot. Cars will be staged in three (3) rows and each car, once parked, will be greeted by Cheyney University Staff.
Occupants will do the following: (a) Give their name and CU ID#, (b) Student and automobile occupant’s temperature will be taken by CheyneyUniversity Staff, (c) Student and visitor’s temperatures must not exceed 100.4, (c.1) If either the student or visitor’s temperatures exceeds 100.4, the
driver of the vehicle will be asked to move the vehicle to a designated location within the Airport Parking Lot and the occupant’s temperatures will be taken two (2) more times during the next hour, (c.2) If the occupant’s temperature does not fall within the desired range 100.4, they will be asked to leave the Airport
Parking Lot and to arrange an appointment with their personal physician. (c.3) Once a doctor’s note is obtained, stating that you are negative for the Coronavirus, the student and the parent will be given instructions to arrange an appointment to return to
Cheyney University or how to complete the registration process online with a member of the Cheyney University staff. (d) Cleared students will be given a CU Wolf Head
‘Cleared’ tag that will be allow them to proceed towards LLC. Students must present the CU
Wolf Head to Cheyney University Public Safety in order to receive their Housing Assignment at LLC. (e) Non-cleared students will be assigned a registration location.

Students who have outstanding issues with Financial Aid, the Bursar, Admissions, or the Registrar will be assigned either Marian Anderson or Marcus Foster Registration locations based upon the first letter of their last name.
Marian Anderson: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K and L.

5. When can students move-in?
Cheyney University Registration and Move-In Days: • Freshmen: August 4-5, 2020 • Seniors: August 6, 2020 • Juniors: August 7, 2020 • Sophomores: August 8, 2020
Cheyney University students are encouraged to always wear a face mask and continue to socially distance in the dormitory. Students will have 30-minutes to move-In. Move-In carts will be provided to students.
6. Will students have the ability to host in-person events on campus?
A Cheyney University event refers to a planned or spontaneous event, indoors or outdoors, with a small number of people participating or a large number of people in attendance such as a community event or gathering, concert, festival, conference, wedding, or sporting event. • Meetings should continue to take place in a virtual setting
whenever possible. • No in-person meetings should take place unless six-feet of distance can be maintained. • No informal gatherings of more than five (5) people are allowed on campus • Formal Student Activities should not exceed more than 25 people and should ensure social distancing • No on-campus events by third-party organizations are allowed until further notice • Events are not intended to cover internal, department-level meetings • No unauthorized visitors are allowed on to campus until further notice • Faculty or staff bringing contractors to work on campus are required to share this policy with such contractors. As a condition for continuous or intermittent access to Cheyney
University or facilities, contractors must have their own
COVID-19 risk mitigation policies and procedures. Violations of this policy will not be tolerated.
7. Will the University offer students the choice to take online classes from home or in-person classes while living on campus?
While the University has a number of online course offerings for the fall semester, not all courses being offered in the fall will available as online classes. For those students who desire to take online classes, Dr. Greg Smith, Acting Associate Provost, will work with the students in concert with their academic advisor

to develop a class schedule of courses that are required for the student’s major and are being offered online in the fall. Students interested in an online class schedule should email Dr. Smith at gsmith@cheyney.edu.
8. Are students who share living spaces required to get tested prior to arrival?
Testing will be required for those students showing symptoms of COVID-19 and those at risk of exposure. Testing will not be conducted on the premises. Those who need will be directed to a nearby testing facility (Main Line Health Riddle Hospital). The
University will provide transportation to the facility, if needed.
9. What type of mental health support will be available for students?
The Cheyney University mental health counselor works on campus five days per week, and the University currently exploring an expansion of mental health services for our students.
10. What type of medical services will be available to students on campus?
The University plans to have a physician on campus five days per week. Additionally, Cheyney University has an existing relationship with a licensed medical partner Jefferson Health for telehealth medical sessions. This service is provided at no cost to
Cheyney students.
If a student or staff member reports to the Health and Safety
Team, Housing, Residence Life Team, Public Safety, ER, Urgent Care, or other Community Health Agencies and is deemed COVID-19 positive or presumed positive and it is during Wellness Center service regular business hours: The student or staff member may call the Wellness Center for assistance or coordination of care for isolation or quarantine and follow up: • The Wellness Center Team will coordinate with the Health and Safety Team along with the Housing and Residence Life
Team if campus isolation or quarantine is needed. • The Public Safety Team may transport student or staff member from the dormitory, local hospital or other agency to the place of isolation/quarantine if needed. Infection control protocol for the Public Safety vehicle or Cheyney

Friday, while in quarantine, daily follow up calls will be made by the Wellness Center Team. If a student or staff member reports to the Health and Safety Team, the Housing, and Residence Life Team, Public Safety, ER, Urgent Care, or other Community Health Agencies and is deemed COVID-19 positive or presumed positive and it is not during regular business hours: • The student or staff member may call Public Safety for transport back to campus.

• If isolation or quarantine accommodations are needed, Public Safety will call the on-call Health and Safety Team or Housing Residence Life Team representative to arrange for campus isolation or quarantine for the student or staff member. • If a student or staff member is isolated or quarantined on campus after hours, the Health and Safety Team or the Housing and Residence Life Team will alert the Wellness Center Team the following business day to initiate follow-up for the isolated or quarantined student or staff member. • If the student or staff member can isolate off-campus and does not need transport or on campus isolation/quarantine, the testing facility will be asked to have any identified Health and Safety Team or Housing and Residence Life Team to contact the Wellness Center Team for follow-up and isolation/quarantine guidance. • Cheyney University Public Safety, the Health and Safety Team or the Housing and Residence Life Team will have supplies to provide the student or staff member with instructions for isolation/quarantine from Wellness Center when needed.

11. What safety measures can students practice in residence halls during the evenings and weekends?
Students will be encouraged to distance themselves from others as much as possible by at least 6-feet of space. This may be challenging in the residence halls. While campus-wide gatherings may continue when limited to five (5) participants, residents should not gather in groups of five (5) inside residential rooms. We encourage students to use good judgement in determining whether to host others in their residential space. The Housing and Residential Life Team are working on creative solutions to nurture the student community in the absence of student activities and programs. In addition, the Housing and Residential Life Team is developing materials with guidelines on what to avoid, when to use caution, and activities that are safe to do while practicing social distancing.
12. What is the University’s Isolation and Quarantine Plan?
If a student or staff member is determined to have had close contact with a lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 case, they will be required to be isolated or quarantined according to CDC and PA DOH guidelines. If you are living on campus or living off campus and need accommodations:

The Health and Safety Team, the Housing and Residence Life Team, or the Public Safety Team will move students to one of the quarantine-designated areas on campus. King Dormitory has two (2) designated floors (the 2nd and 4th floors) which includes: • Twenty-four (24) double rooms • Two (2) RA rooms • Two (2) full restrooms with six (6) stalls each • Two (2) full shower rooms with six (6) individual shower stalls each King Hall access will be given by the Health and Safety Team, the Housing and Residence Life Team, or Public Safety. Emergency Disposable Linen and toiletries have already been procured and are stored on campus. Student or staff belongings will be placed in secure baskets and moved to quarantine with the student or staff member. The Health and Safety Team or the Public Safety Team will assist with transport to room and the quarantine area. The Health and Safety Team, the Housing and Residence Life Team, and Public Safety will maintain social distance and wear masks during transport. If a Cheyney University van is used for transport, infection control protocol for the van will be followed.
13. How will the University ensure that buildings and residence halls are clean during the pandemic?
Our custodial staff, CBD, has received specific training on how to sanitize common touch points and has escalated its safety
protocols. Also, Campus Operations has prepared the classrooms, dining venues, and other general areas of campus to accommodate social distancing. This includes making sanitizer or wipes available in many locations for students, faculty, and staff.
PPE will be provided to students, faculty, and staff and is available for distribution at Marcus Foster. All contractors and vendors on campus are required to submit safety plans and have to wear PPE at all times.
14. How is the University preparing faculty for in-person classes?
All Cheyney University classroom facilities have been socially distanced since July 15, 2020. Classrooms have been capped at 20- 30 students utilizing the six-feet protocol for social distancing.
