New Vision—Health Careers

NEW VISION HEALTH CAREERS

Through it’s affiliation with the Alice Hyde Medical Center, the North Franklin Educational Center provides the New Vision Health Careers program. The curriculum centers around clinical rotations which afford the students opportunities for observational learning at the AHMC facility. Students are instructed through their exposure to patient and facility combined with a traditional classroom setting. College Credit (Optional) North Country Community College credit is offered in the following courses: English 101—English Composition I Biology 100—Human Biology Health Occ 200—Medical Terminology POS 102—American Government & Politics To be eligible for college credit students must submit an application and $50.00 fee for each course. The New Vision instructor has the necessary forms.

NEW VISION STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

High School Senior Developed maturity and the ability to work both independently and in teams Demonstrated above-average written and verbal skills Completed 3-years of Science Completed 3-years of Math Recommended by High School Guidance Counselor Meet health standards as set by NYS for working in hospital setting
