HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATION & REPAIR The Heavy Equipment Operation and Repair program‘s main emphasis is the operation of equipment. This includes the bulldozer, backhoe, front-end loader, excavator, motor grader, dump truck, and trailer. The program includes theory and "handson" experience in these areas. The students learn basic principles of the diesel engine as well as preventative maintenance of the equipment. The class includes a unit on welding and fabrication. In 2011, 66% of all FEH BOCES Completers went onto some postsecondary education or training. Heavy Equipment students can apply to receive articulation credit at the following institution: Paul Smiths College

ACADEMIC CREDIT AVAILABLE Students can earn academic credit in a two-year program toward graduation for:

Students may receive New York State Education Department CTE Endorsement on their high school diploma if they: Meet all graduation requirements at the home school Pass all 3 parts of the National Technical Assessment (written, practical and project) Successfully complete the two year CTE Program
