Letter from Leadership The need for affordable housing remains high in our community. The ability to secure safe, decent, affordable housing is difficult and sometimes nearly impossible. We all know someone who is in need. Look around at the hardworking people in our community: the server at your favorite restaurant, the grocery store employee, the assistant in the doctor’s office, the caring employee of a non-profit, the public school teacher.

Charlotte County Habitat wants to end the substandard housing crisis in our community through God’s love and direction, one family at a time. We offer a hand-up, not a hand-out. The families who qualify for our homeownership program would not be able to secure a home mortgage through traditional resources. Our homeowners have a 30-year, 0% interest, and no profit mortgage for their 3 bedroom/2 bath/1 car garage home.

We continue to maneuver our way through these very challenging and ever changing times. Even though supply chain issues and labor shortages continue to slow our progress, we are not letting that stop us. We are working to complete as many homes as possible for the families who are approved in our homeownership program.

Thank you for your continued partnership. Whether you donate, volunteer, or shop in our resale stores, you are helping deserving families achieve the dream of homeownership. Together, we can build a stronger community one family at a time.
