NEWS LETTER

Renaissance Park Project Advances through Redevelopment Commission The Redevelopment Commission (RDC) is working with ARC and its CEO, Alan Muncy to bring an exciting project to Charlestown as part of the RDC’s overall downtown revitalization plan. This project will be at the corner of Main and Market Streets and will attract residents to downtown. The proposal for Phase 1 consists of at least 2200 square feet of retail space to house a well known regional coffee shop. There will be 41 apartments with two bedrooms/two bathrooms. The project will bring new life to the Square. Developments like this that have been sprouting up all around our region are precisely what Redevelopment Commissions intend to accomplish; the revival of areas that have languished for one reason or another. Charlestown’s RDC has been steadily working to

prepare the Renaissance WHAT’S BEEN ... Park site to be a viable location for a public/private partnership that fits into the city’s Comprehensive Plan. When combined with the new police station, the refaced park’s garage and the Clark Werner Dog Park things are taking shape. For Charlestown’s Redevelopment Commission this is part of an ongoing plan for Charlestown’s future.
