NEWS LETTER D.A, Inc. Celebrates 30 Years in Charlestown
Congratulations to D.A., Inc. - Kojima Auto Technology on 30 years in Charlestown. D.A. has been in four Charlestown locations over the past 30 years. Mayor Hall presented Mr. Kojima with an inscribed Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat and a box of Schimpf’s Chocolates. U.S. Congressman Trey Hollingsworth was also on hand to congratulate D.A. on its 30 year anniversary. D.A. Inc. and Kojima presented the city with a $10,000 check to be used for street art.
Sidewalks Moving Forward on Monroe St. City sidewalk construction crews are “full speed ahead” in their effort to lay sidewalks on both sides of Monroe Street. When all is said and done, new sidewalks will line both sides of Monroe from Highway 62 to Market Street. In the city’s overall Connectivity Plan all city neighborhoods will be connected by sidewalks and trails.
Chuck Ledbetter Retires, Receives Awards, Accepts New Position
Congratulations to Chuck Ledbetter, Jr. for receiving The Criminal Investigation Award for the hundreds of cases ha solved during his tenure and the Distinguished Police Service Award for 28 years of honorable service to the Charlestown community.
Chuck who recently retired as the detective for CHPD, was congratulated by Mayor Bob for his years of service as an officer, Assistant Chief, and detective, and was was sworn in as a reserve officer. In addition to being a reserve, however, Chuck will remain with the Charlestown Police Department as IT/Evidence Property Officer, Criminal Investigations Division. Charlestown is honored to have benefited from Chuck’s years of service and looks forward to many more in his new role!
