MY NAME IS CHARLIE LI AND I AM A GRADUATE STUDENT AT THE NEW YORK SCHOOLIF INTERIOR DESIGN. MY ROOTS ARE FROM CHINA, A COUNTRY FULL OF RICHNESS, ACCESSIBILITY, AND DIVERSITY. ALL OF THESE FEATURES ALLOWED ME TO BECOME A CREATIVE AT A YOUNG AGE AND PUSHED ME TO CONVEY THE ARTS THROUGH DIFFERENT MEDIUMS WITHOUT ANY LIMITATIONS. MY EVERYDAY LIFE INSPIRES ME AS A DESGINER AND IS REFLECTIVE IN MY WORK. GRADUALLY, I GAIN A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW EVER CULTURAL HABIT CAN SHAPE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN AND EXPERIENCE EVERYDAY.
I DID MY UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN GAME DESIGN AND ANIMATION AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY, WHICH ENABLES ME TO WORK IN A MYRIAD OF ART MEDIUMS. EVEN THOUGH THOUGH I WAS A GAME DESIGN MAJOR, I EARNED MORE AESTHETIC PRACTICES BY JOINING 3D RENDERING AND GAME ENVIRONMENT DESIGN CLASSES. THESE CLASSES ALLOWED ME TO CUT IN FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES AND PERSPECTIVES WHEN DEALING WITH A SPACE AND NURTURED ME AS AN ARTIST WHO POSSESES SKILLS, CURIOSITY, AND KNOWLEDGE FROM DIFFERENT FIELDS.
AFTER GRADUATING IN 2020, I DESIRED FOR MORE CREATIVE EXPLORATION IN THE REAL WORLD. THIS WAS WHEN I DECIDED TO MOVE BACK TO NEW YORK, NOT ONLY TO EXPAND MY CREATIVE HORIZON AS A STUDENT BUT TO SEE HOW EACH INTERIOR ENVIRONMENT TELLS A STORY OF THE SPACE. I COULD SPEND HOURS WALKING IN THE CITY, JUST ADORING THE ENORMOUS SCALES OF INTERIOR SPACES AND BUILDINGS, AND THE DELICATE CLASSIC EUROPEAN ARCHITECTURE. THESE HISTORICAL STYLES HAVE METHODICALLY TRANSFORMED INTO SOME OF THE FOLLOWING SELECTIVE WORKS AND ALSO REMINDS ME HOW I SHOULD INCORPORATE THESE UNIQUE STYLES INTO MY CREATIVE WORKS.
IN ADDITION TO BEING PROFESSIONALLY SKILLED, MY STRENGTH LIES IN COMMUNCATION AND COLLABORATION WITH PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUNDS AND SKILLSETS, DEVELOPING A STRINGER UNDERSTANDING OF PROBLEM-SOLVING AND COOPERATION DURING A TEAMWORK SETTING. THESE SKILLS WERE MOST RECENTLY DEMONSTRATED WHEN I PARTICIPATED IN OUR SCHOOL’S SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAM. IN THIS PROGRAM, WE WORKED AS A TEAM AND DESIGNED A SENSORY GARDEN FOR THE LAVELLE SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND.
ALL OF THE ABOVE CONSTANTLY INSPIRE ME TO TO BE NONASSERTIVE AND REFLECT ON HOW I EXPERIENCE LIFE THROUGH THE ART OF DESIGN.

Kiraful Miracle Clothing's brand conveys the message of loud, creative, and connected. All in all, it is a very clear example of “all aesthetic, no meaning”.
Japanese street style is known for being bold and cutting-edge. While there’s no single definition of Japanese street style, there are some defining trends. Loose, overfitted clothing in muted colors is fairly typical. Generally, it’s all about silhouettes and mixing things up—layers, vintage, designer, and more.
The space plays upon the idea of wonder in the world around us, and the freeing beauty of traveling on the JR Japanese Metro line. The space aims to have a feeling of vastness and movement.
This flagship store represents the official launch of the company’s North American streetwear line as an independent retail experience. It will play upon the idea of wonder in the world around us, and the freeing beauty of the night sky. Curving forms remind us of the planet’s orbit and the waxing and waning of the moon. Small patterning of repetitive geometric forms will relate back to the constellations and horoscopes. The space aims to have a feeling of vastness and movement, like the universe, and like the identity of the target client-- free, youthful at heart, vibrant, explorative, and always on the move.
