Aderholt has reached the end of his six-year term as Subcommittee Chairman and would need a waiver to continue to serve as ranking member on the Agriculture Subcommittee. Given the likely shuffling of the Republican cardinals elsewhere, predicting who will serve as the next Ranking Member of the subcommittee is difficult. Several Members will not be returning. Rep. Thomas Rooney (R-FL) has retired from office and Reps. Kevin Yoder (R-KS) and David Young (R-IA) were defeated.
