YOUR MONTHLY DOSE OF BRAINY GOODNESS
Welcome to this month’s issue of Brain Buzz! Take a minute to “fall” into brain science with insights for home, school and work.
The Season of Change
For many, October represents a season of change leaves turn various shades of yellow and orange, the days shorten, and school routines start to settle.
Fall invites us to reflect, to notice the changes around us and within us. The brain thrives on reflection too When we take the time to notice change, we can learn from our experiences, reset, and build resilience.
For
the Classoo
Have students write or draw a “then vs. now” map of what they knew or felt at the start of school versus now, and share it out with the class. This activity boosts selfawareness and confidence.
For Home
As school and fall bring new routines (sports, homework, earlier evenings), remember the brain thrives on consistency. Stick with routines when you can, while leaving room for flexibility and fun.
For Your Practice
Reflection activates our “adulting” brain, strengthening self-awareness and decision-making. Try pausing after your workday or between meetings to ask, “What went well? What could I approach differently?”

Shedding the old, strengthening the new. Just like trees shed leaves in fall, our brains prune unused connections. Reflection helps focus our energy on the skills and practices we want to keep and strengthen.
