WiMLSS-Behavior Universal Booster

Team members (new or existing) on previously trained and implementing teams, new administrators on implementing teams, previously trained teams wanting to refresh their Universal systems.

This 1 day training helps participants review key concepts of their Universal WiMLSS-Behavior system (PBIS) and consider system enhancements and revisions to help meet the needs of ALL students. This training is designed specifically for buildings with previous training experience and at least some implementation of Tier 1 Behavior supports. Completion or commitment to complete a WiMLSS Framework training is required to participate in this offering.

Team Objectives:

Learn how to apply equity concepts to existing universal systems.

Review the key elements of a universal behavior support system. Reflect on current systems and practices and receive support to revise or enhance current systems.

WiMLSS-Behavior Selected Booster

Team members (new or existing) on previously trained and implementing teams, new administrators on implementing teams, previously trained teams wanting to refresh their WiMLSS-Behavior Tier 2 (Selected) systems.

This training helps participants review key concepts of their Selected system and consider enhancements & revisions to ensure a coordinated approach of intervention for students whose needs are not yet met in the Universal system alone. This training is designed specifically for buildings with previous training experience and at least some implementation of Tier 2 Behavior supports. Completion or commitment to complete a WiMLSS Framework training is required to participate in this offering.

Team Objectives:

Review critical connections to universal systems and equity concepts.

Review the key elements of a tier 2 (selected) behavior support system and how those relate to specific interventions.

Reflect on current systems and practices and receive support to revise or enhance current systems.

Course Overview

Advance your expertise in trauma-informed care

February 26-27, 2025

9am-3pm (lunch will be included)

In this foundation-setting learning experience, participants are walked, step-by-step, through 10 Steps to Create a TraumaInformed, Resilient School. The learning experience will focus on resilience with an emphasis on understanding how trauma impacts children and their school experience. It will provide proactive strategies such as fostering connections, prioritizing social and emotional skills, establishing safety, and promoting play. Detailed information and concrete actions will also be covered, in a way that doesn’t just answer the “why” but the “how” to create the best classroom and school supports for traumatized students and the school professionals who serve them. A strong focus on understanding the link between a student’s private logic and their academic achievement and behavior deficits in the Circle of Courage’s universal needs will be addressed, as well

as how to assess students and create behavior support plans for each. Strategies to collaborate with families, communities and support staff will be presented also, as well as examples of how to collect and utilize outcome data. This training will offer Certified Trauma & Resilient Specialist in Education (CTRS-E) status to any participant in attendance with the purchase of the Specialist StarrPASS. This streaming platform provides access to digital resources including: staff self assessment, activity packet, behavioral support plans, workbooks, and a library of traumainformed videos for ongoing professional development. It also includes a badge and certificate to use in email signatures, or personal websites.
