With the Herringbone pattern we may have to cut all the outside perimeter and with the Basket weave there is no need, as they are square to the edge.

Buildings delineate public space in an urban setting, the facades cooperate to delineate the public space as walls form a room Spatial defined by facade and maybe landscape

The street has 1:3 height-to-width ratio the generates spatial enclosure The tighter the ratio, the stronger the sense of place and often real estate value

Most of the buildings had a rear yard

This is the only house in the entire street that has a bay window which disrupts the flat nature of all the facades and messes with the rhythm of it.

06: Adittion to Athletic rec

Athletic Recreational Center

Celma Lopez Mata

Better known as The Athletic Rec; is located in the heart of Sharswood’s neighborhood. It is the nucleus of the community, by giving access to different sports and recreational spaces to people from all types of backgrounds. This proposal intends to highlight even more the Athletic Rec Center’s purpose of being a core element to Sharswood. It does so by suggesting the addition of a new structure which would include an Industrial Kitchen, that can be used to give cooking classes, but also a cafeteria that can be transformed into an event area that connects to the existing structure. Making this new addition an attention catcher.
