04 HARMONY IN MOTION
Hello!
My name is Celma Lopez Mata and I’m an aspiring architect based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, currently studying at Thomas Jefferson University. Besides architecture, I enjoy hiking, rollerblading and cooking. I have decided to pursue a career where I can embrace my creativity and make ideas come to life for my clients. Featured in this portfolio are a select few works that mark my experiences of these last 4 years at Jefferson.

HARMONY IN MOTION
This Boat House revolves around the seamless integration of open spaces and the rhythm of the roof. Which does not only provides shelter and allows light in but it also embodies the essence of rowing; the floating, rhythmic moments between strokes. Which is represented by the various changes in the roof plane.

BRIDGING COMMUNITY
This aparment complex building, in West Philadelphia, is a proposal to bridge the community, keeping the existing community members where they are while welcoming neighboring communities. By amplifying sense of community and increasing opportunities for interaction between neighbors, trying to lesser the gentrification effect and pushing out of locals.
