San Antonio, are an apostolic, international, intercultural Congregation founded by Bishop Claude Marie Dubuis in 1869. The mystery of the Incarnation is the foundation of our lives and at the heart of our ministries. Dedicated to our mission “to make real and tangible the saving and healing love of Jesus, the Incarnate Word, by promoting human dignity”, we serve God’s people, especially those who are economically poor and vulnerable, through health care, education, pastoral and social services. In each ministry, we use our energy, expertise and resources to respond to urgent and evolving needs in society and we strive to promote human dignity, peace, justice and the integrity of creation. We currently serve in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the United States.
Chimbote, Peru
(Verbo Encarnado Clinic)
This Clinic provides healthcare, education, faith development, and service to women, children, and youth in Chimbote, Nuevo Chimbote, Santa, Coishco, and Cambio Puente. Specialty services such as audiology and cardiology are also available.
In 1999, our Congregation partnered with the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Houston, to form CHRISTUS Health, whose mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
Trinity Mother Frances Health System, sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, joined CHRISTUS Health in 2016 as a third co-sponsor. The health system is inspired by its mission, vision and core values to provide compassionate, high quality health care, improving the health of the communities it serves.
CHRISTUS Health comprises numerous facilities and services in the United States: Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas, and internationally in Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
Chimbote, Peru

For over five decades, we have provided a range of medical and social services in the Chimbote region of Northern Peru, one of the poorest areas in that country.

Founded in 1988. A retirement community focused on the unique needs of elderly adults, provides a continuum of care from independent living apartments through memory care units, allowing individuals to “age in place” as their needs change.
The Village also includes programs of care and education for elderly adults in the larger community, including Sisters Care and Connections Community Outreach Program.

The cooperative supports 540 families to cultivate organic coffee and improve their lives and income.
Hidalgo, Mexico
Our Sisters, in collaboration with Assumption Parish, offer a family formation program in Mezquital, in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico,
whose population is composed primarily of the indigenous tribe known as Hñähñü.
The project is two-pronged: providing pastoral formation and offering much needed community service in this isolated area. Its goal is to bring the populations of Mezquital and the surrounding pueblos closer together to create stronger ties with their faith community and the parish.
Jefferson City, MO
Founded in 1999. The only social outreach program of its kind in the Jefferson City diocese, El Puente helps integrate new immigrants into life in the United States while preserving their cultural values. The ministry addresses the varied needs facing immigrants, from legal and medical services to education.
Mexico City (Vasco de Quiroga Children’s Day Care Center)
This ministry contributes to community development by providing service to children of single mothers and their families who have limited economic resources.

Established in 2008, an earth-care ministry of the Congregation restoring and celebrating the rich cultural, historical, spiritual, and educational values of the headwaters of the San Antonio River. Providing a safe haven for native plants, animals and people, the Headwaters Sanctuary addresses our moral obligation of earth care.

When Incarnate Word Hospital was sold in 1997, the Foundation was established to continue its mission of service in the St. Louis area. Grounded in Incarnational Spirituality, it strives to create and nurture relationships that support community organizations in building healthy communities with a focus on programs that serve women, children, persons who are economically poor, and those who are elderly.

Founded in 1981 by the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood, this ministry was transferred to our Congregation in 2018. The Center offers a structured, comprehensive program that provides a variety of health and social support services to meet the needs of functionally challenged individuals.
San Antonio, TX
Founded in 1986. Two-year transitional housing and educational program for homeless single mothers with young children. This ministry includes transitional apartment living to prepare the women for a life of independence and stability for themselves and their children. It also provides outreach education programs for women in the broader community to empower them to be prepared to seek employment.
Incarnate Word Associates are lay women and men in Mexico, Peru and the United States who feel called to live the Charism and the Mission of the Congregation.
The Migration Crisis Network identifies four key areas of need facing migrating individuals and families, as well as mission workers and organizations whose basic foundation is to provide help to those in need. Each goal identifies key objectives, priority activities and specific action to be accomplished in the immediate future through Congregational and partnership initiatives.
The objective of this project is to help young women and men acquire tools of discernment for their growth in the path of faith and in their social and ecclesial commitment through discovery of the spirituality of the Incarnation.
The project is based on the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation initiative, which aims to position Catholic Sisters as world leaders in sustainable human development. Our project proposal focuses on the strategy of reinforcing and supporting the vitality, strength, and sustainability of the congregations to respond effectively to the needs of the communities served by their ministries in Mexico and the United States.
