GROWING UP IN A SINGLE PARENT HOUSEHOLD WAS HARD. My parents suffered from addiction. I struggled with a physical disability, dropped out of school, and fell into addiction myself. Addiction led me through jails, rehabs, and homelessness. When I found out I was pregnant, I became sober but had nowhere to live and no job. With the support of CCIH, I have remained clean for four years. I have learned how to be a loving and supportive mother to a healthy and happy son. Mitchel and I both now have steady jobs, and I attend Diablo Valley College studying social work so I can give back to others like CCIH has done for me.
Thank you for saving my life.
