2024 Health & Wellness Program

A new Health and Wellness program was introduced this year, thanks to Admin Assistant Scott Webb! The goal of the program was to improve staff mental and physical wellbeing with three different challenges.

The program kicked off in February with Hydrate and Thrive, challenging employees to drink 8 glasses of water for 23 days out of the month. Move it! March followed with employees incorporating 20 minutes of activity for 23 days out of the month. Finishing off the program was April Awareness, where staff became more aware of their physical and mental health with a list of different tasks to complete for the month.

Participants who turned in their tracker sheets each month earned different gifts like water bottles, bags, and salad shakers to support their journey!

On May 10th, Participants could come to the ESC to enjoy their final prize, createyour-own Chipotle bowls! Thank you to everyone who joined the 2024 Health and Wellness Program. We can’t wait to watch this program grow as we commit to bettering our mental and physical wellbeing each year!

Meet Your Success Makers

Megan Landis is a wonderful Family Resource Coordinator for the Mental Health Team.

Megan’s nominator said, “Until this year, Megan was the sole employee of the Family Resource Coordination program and worked tirelessly to provide students and their families with amazing support and connection to community resources I have personally witnessed Megan sitting with a family group and helping them fill out applications for benefits and programming. Megan is incredibly knowledgeable about what resources are available to families in our school districts and will find the answer for any question that comes her way. Megan is continuously asking what she can do for others on the team and does not shy away from helping run programming and checking in with students We are so blessed to have her!”

Thank you Megan for the time and effort you put into helping the students and their families, we appreciate you!

Julie Savage joined the Mental Health Team as a Family Resource Coordinator for the 23-24 school year. She stepped into a new role this year and has become a huge contributor to providing support to the families and schools that the mental health team serves

Julie’s nominator shared, “Julie joined the Family Resource Coordination team this school year and has made such an impact. Julie is usually noticed by her bright smile and bubbly personality but she should absolutely also be recognized by her hard work and reliability she provides to any family in need. Julie meets families where they are and provides a safe space of no judgment or condemnation and helps to build them back up with the resources available to them in the community She does not shy away from having tough conversations and can usually put a smile on a troubled student's face Julie, like Megan, is always willing to help out the Mental Health team in any way and work programming wherever needed.”

Thank you Julie for all of your hard work and dedication to the students and their families!

Sundaes with Pleasant St.

A Pleasant St Class practiced nonverbal communication skills through ice cream sundaes.

The students were instructed to draw the sundae they wanted. This could include things like chocolate syrup, caramel, m&ms, or even Oreos. Their teacher then took the drawing into another room and created their sundae masterpiece!

The students then had to communicate with their teachers what was wrong with their sundae and how to correct it. What a fun Friday project!
