The Shawnee ESOL Class was able to take a field trip to the Great Council State Park this month!
These students had the opportunity to learn about Shawnee History and even learned why their school is named Shawnee. What a great learning experience for the kiddos!
Enon Buddy Bench
CEC Enon started a project in 2022 that has grown to become a school wide effort to build a place for students and community members to connect. During the 2022-2023 school year Enon students began collecting plastic bottle caps as part of a project to build a bench for a fallen Clark County Deputy. This was such a great experience for the kids, Enon Teacher Theresa Stevens decided it needed to continue on!
Theresa reached back out to the Springfield Exchange Club to see if the students could do another recycling project the following year. This began the work for their latest project, The Buddy Bench.
Students began collecting at the beginning of the 23-24 school year In the spring, members of the Springfield Exchange Club – Karen Lotz, Mark Lotz, and Don “Skip” Warner – brought the sorting materials to campus and helped teach students how to sort the bottle caps Students then learned the process of how everything is melted to create the Buddy Bench that will be placed on the playground.
On October 9, 2024, Karen Lotz and members of the Springfield Exchange Club made a special delivery to the Enon Campus They presented students with a brand-new Buddy Bench, now proudly installed on the school playground. The bench created by the students is a place where they can sit, make new friends, and enjoy time together. A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life!

Students enjoyed a Halloween party full of yummy treats and fun games to celebrate! The kids were able to dress up and participate in activities to win more candy. This was such a fun day for everyone at Pleasant St.!
Thankful for you
Students and the Mental Health Team worked together to show the Pleasant St. Staff appreciation for all they do! On Halloween, they set up a cider bar full of treats and delicious cider.
Students worked hard to decorate small goodie bags for each staff member to personally thank each of them! What a great way to spread kindness throughout our school!
Creative Minds At work
We’re excited to celebrate the creativity of our amazing Pleasant St. students who recently brought the cafeteria pillars to life with their artwork!
As part of their exploration of the 7 Elements of Art, students applied color, line, shape, and other techniques to transform each pillar into a vibrant and unique masterpiece. This project was a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their artistic talents, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. The result is a beautiful, colorful space that inspires creativity and pride throughout our school!

The Clark County ESC has applied for and received the High Performing ESC designation from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) for the nineth year.
To achieve this designation, the ESC must generate total cost savings of at least 5% across five ESC-selected service areas for our school districts as compared to the district providing the services themselves or from another third-party provider. CPI training equips educators with the skills to recognize, prevent, and manage crisis behaviors. It emphasizes personcentered, trauma-informed approaches to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
A special thank you to our trainer, Amanda Wilson, and to all our educators who are continually enhancing their skills to better serve the students of Clark County.

Up Fun
Students spent their Living Skills class learning how to bake brownies They practiced following a recipe, measuring ingredients, and working safely in the kitchen. The class was both fun and educational, giving students valuable cooking skills while they enjoyed their tasty results!
Classroom store
High School Students are learning valuable life skills through a unique classroom initiative. By working in the cafeteria, they earn money that can be spent at the classroom store Each week, they count their earnings and decide whether to shop or save for future purchases.
The program reinforces practical math skills as students add up their purchases and pay the cashier with the correct amount of money This hands-on approach has been an exciting and rewarding experience, with students happily participating and honing their ability to follow directions. It's proving to be a fun and effective way to build essential life skills!
