Biographysportscareer

Catalina Leiva is a Chilean volleyball player whose career began at 16 years old when she was called up as a youth reinforcement by the Ibero-American University of Science and Technology to compete in the Chilean First Division (A1 League).

She entered the University of Santiago de Chile through a sports scholarship, joining the university team and competing in the Higher Education Sports League (LDES).

She was called up as a reinforcement for CSD Colo-Colo in the A1 League, and returning to the team in 2022.

During the next season, she was awarded a scholarship by the Montevideo Group of Universities Association (AUGM) to study at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil, where she join the university’s volleyball team.

She was called up to reinforce Stadio Italiano, contributing to the team’s promotion from Second Division (A2) to First Division (A1) and later competing in the top division.

In 2024, she continued her career in Japan, joining Goldstar Hachioji and competing at the national level in the 2024/25 season.

Alongside her indoor career, Catalina has competed in beach volleyball, participating in the Beach Volleyball Circuit (CVP) in Viña del Mar and Guanaqueros, Chile.

She played in the Beach Volleyball Bangkok Open, Thailand, competing in both the women ’ s and mixed categories.
