Welcome to the 2020 Edition of The Source Sale. Each breeder involved in the group continues to grow and better their respective herd the quality continues to rise. We are excited for you to evaluate the bulls developed in Nashville, GA. As in years past, the depth of quality is tremendous. 2020 has been challenging in many regards. We, like many of you, make our living in the cattle business and understand the importance of pressing on in difficult times. The Source breeders remain diligent in making their seedstock better. They continue to stay focused on cow families, within the respective breed, that will enable them to build for generations to come with enhanced predictability and proven results. We hope you will appreciate the hard work put into the breeding programs as you go through the bulls. The Source sale offering continues to consist of Angus, Herefords and SimAngus. We hope you will find the quality of Angus bulls is really impressive, this year. This years Angus offering consists of a large selection of bulls by the calving ease sires, Musgrave Stunner and Capitalist 316, pound producing bulls sired by Weigh Up, and more. The Hereford division continues to provide tremendous carcass merit and we are very excited about the additional quality and eye appeal they offer, this year. In the SimAngus set we have high performing bulls, solid beef bulls and a few show bulls in the making. A new sale feature this year is a handful of Two-Year-Old Angus, SimAngus and one purebred Simmental bull. These age advantage bulls are quite impressive to look at and on paper. We said it last year about an Angus bull but we think this bull is the best one we have raised yet. What a curve bending creature here. 904 was small at birth and huge at weaning and measured with 38 cm testicles at 13 months old while pushing down the scales at 1400. He is out of our best first calf heifer which is a Big River daughter. We think this bull can do big things in the purebred side of things as he couples growth traits with a stud bull look. Pay attention here. Bulls like this don’t come around very often. RETAINING ½ SEMEN INTEREST.

We don’t believe in chasing trends or extremes. BULL DEVELOPMENT • Since the arrival of the bulls in mid July they have been developed as two groups and ran on Bahia grass pastures. • Since delivery, the bulls were transitioned to a high roughage diet consisting of Tift 85 hay, oat baleage and a premix to balance the protein, vitamin and mineral requirements of their diet. • The bulls were fed targeting a gain 3.0lbs/day. • We feel developing the bulls in this manner allows them to maintain their body condition better during their first breeding season and, ultimately, have more longevity.
