CAPSTONE PROJECT

Developing a theoretical and practical framework called The National Young Musicians Framework (NYMF), which stemmed from industry connections with a company I established called Uncharted Sonics This is a record label and recording studio dedicated to supporting emerging professionals, with a mission to enhance career progression and sustainability of young creatives, particularly those after graduating from university This problem led the initiative to research and identify a set of strategies to enhance career sustainability for young musicians in the UK.

“ Don't limit your mind to just what you want to learn. Motivate yourself to embrace what you need to learn, and never lose sight of your vision.

CAPSTONE PROJECT

Developing a tailored education program for independent musicians in South Africa, which has culminated in creating an online platform where young musicians can have access to these educational services, as well as a variety of service providers, be a part of a community and network with other musicians.

COURTNEY FARRANT

Music Business Education

“ If it's meant to be, it's up to me. Show up and play full out and give it your best!

CAPSTONE PROJECT

Exploring the creation of an affordable and accessible PCM synthesizer engine in the UK through Design Thinking This was developed as a proof-of-concept synthesizer for £117, tested with a focus group of young producers and gathered performance data. This idea originated from Ideas Into Action where I planned the roadmap and engaged with expert and funding stakeholders. Making Connections expanded this by framing the project in a community context that aimed to gather passionate individuals to discuss and innovate around creating affordable synthesizers.

LUKE JEER

JAVINA GREENE

“ It might be difficult right now, but just you wait till next term. But hey, even if you don't believe in yourself there is someone here that does.

CAPSTONE PROJECT

Addressing the challenges faced by women in the Birmingham music scene by identifying gaps in support services and developing strategies to create a more equitable and inclusive environment. This led to the initiative Females About Music collective, with a mission is to empower women and raise awareness of the injustices they face within society and the creative music industries through the creation of opportunities for women in cross-sector collaboration with public and third-sector organisations, campaign and advertising materials, events and fundraising.

“ You are special. You are unique. You are worthy. You don’t have to fight for equality as this space, this land is yours. Bring sound to heal others.
