CARUSO CATHOLIC CENTER

Our Facility

The USC Caruso Catholic Center opened its doors in 2012 following the completion of a 10-year building campaign. Our beautiful facility is situated one block north of the USC University Park Campus and directly across the street from the new USC Village on the corner of Hoover and 32nd Street.

The USC Caruso Catholic Center is home for the USC Catholic campus ministry team and staff operations. In addition to the office space, the Center includes a student lounge area (inside the Stevens Student Lounge), our McCarthy Library, 2 conference rooms, a large multipurpose space (Newman Hall), a catering kitchen, and courtyard patio.

Whether you’re looking for a space to host your next work conference, need a place to host a guest speaker, an awards gala or a special reception, we encourage you to learn more about what the USC Caruso Catholic Center can offer.

We welcome venue rental requests for four of our unique spaces:

- Newman Hall

- The Courtyard patio

- The McCarthy Library

- The Classroom

Each of our venues can provide an optimal location for lunches, board meetings, lectures, celebrations, and more.

Newman Hall

• Newman Hall can accommodate up to 150 guests for a sit down banquet and over 200 for a stand up reception. The doors of the hall open up into our main courtyard, with a grand view of Our

• Newman Hall and our patio courtyard can each hold between 150–200 people seated.

• Full service catering kitchen

• Built in projector and A/V system (up to five microphones)

• Podium

• Tables and chairs optional

Lectures

• Newman Hall can seat up to 250 individuals lecture style

• Built in projection and A/V system (Up to five microphones) and a podium

• Access to catering kitchen

• Courtyard access

Board Meetings, Staff Training, & Classes

• McCarthy Library:

• Board meeting seating for 12

• Three round tables, seating for 10

• Couch seating for eight

• Television and sound system access

• Conference Room:

• Seating for 30–35 at round or rectangular tables

Additional Fees

While we do review and adjust fees/donations on a case-by-case basis, we have established a standard request for each venue. In addition to the requested donation, we require the following fees:

• Cleaning fee: $300 (may be applied depending on event)

• Cleaning deposit: $200 (fully refundable)

• Staffing Fee: $20 per hour per event captain.

• We require a minimum of one student event worker present from setup until cleanup. We may increase the number of workers depending on the size and nature of the event.
