Football & Water Polo

FOOTBALL

The 2019-2020 Phantom Football season was one of growth. The team’s overall record was 5-6 with a 2-1 league record, which earned them back to back Angelus League championship titles. The program continues to build their identity and be competitive under head coach Anthony Jefferson. The football team will be moving into the very competitive Mission League where they will face Bishop Amat, Chaminade, Alemany, Notre Dame (SO), and Serra.

The Phantoms look forward to improving on last season’s record and will build the offense around junior quarterback Lucas Lenhoff and senior offensive lineman Nathan Mejia. The team returns numerous starters on the offense and defense. We look forward to seeing Phantom Football compete in one of Southern California’s toughest football leagues.

WATER POLO

Cathedral High School’s water polo team

continued to show success in the Fall 2019 season. The Phantoms water polo team continued to build for future success with the majority of our varsity squad composed of sophomores and juniors. The team was able to gain valuable experience that will help them in the years to come. The Junior Varsity boys saw great development throughout the season and found a passion for the game that is necessary for the water polo program to continue to build and compete at a high level. The Varsity boys played well during league and placed 3 rd in the

Vista Valle League qualifying for playoffs. The Phantoms ended the season with a 7-7 record. The water polo team was CIF Champions in 2018 and looks to have the same success in the 2020 season.
