Premier Trophy Awards event. What a spectacular day we all had! It was so satisfying to be able to stage an event on this scale once more and be able meet people in person. This was our first event in

almost two years and was long overdue. Credit goes to everyone who achieved an award on the day, and there were some truly outstanding projects submitted across the seven categories. It was both pleasing and encouraging to see our Apprentice of the Year winners picking up their awards. They are a credit to our sector and I am sure they will have great careers ahead. Further details and photographs of the event can be seen in this issue. Looking ahead, the application forms for the 2022 Trophy Awards and Apprentice competitions are now available to download from our website. Additionally, in light of circumstances, we have extended the time period for job entries to cover any jobs completed between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2021. Entries must be received at PDA Head Office by 7 January 2022. We look forward to seeing the shortlisted entrants in London on 7 July next year! A new version of our updated Health and Safety Handbook will be launched later this month as a mobile app. This gives us greater scope to update it quickly if any legislation or information changes. All the information on how to access the app will be sent out later this month in our e-newsletter. Also featured in this issue is information and a booking form for our National Networking Event at the Waterfront Hilton Hotel in Liverpool on 19 and 20 November. The HQ team and I hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us, it will be fantastic to have a catch up over what promises to be a great weekend. At the Saturday Gala Dinner, we will be announcing the PDA Apprentice Wallpaper Hanger of the Year winners. Our last networking event was in November 2019, which really does seem like an age away now, it’s been too long since we got together and sometimes, one can have enough of staring into screens for virtual meetings. Our AGM will follow the same format as last year. To facilitate this, you will shortly receive a series of e-newsletters asking you to vote for the nominees who have put their names forward for election to our Management Board. The final newsletter will be sent out on Friday 26 November with the announcement of results. It will also include my annual CEO’s report. If anyone has any concerns or ideas that you would like to discuss, please do get in touch with me. We hope to see some of you at the National Painting and Decorating Show this year at the Coventry Building Society Arena (formerly Ricoh Arena) in Coventry on 23 and 24 November. We will be on Stand 91, so please do drop by and have a chat with us. In the meantime do remain vigilant with ongoing Covid-19 precautions, although things have much improved, it is still very much around.
