Our boarding house at Copthorne Prep School is perfect for group bookings of children up to age 13 looking for exclusive use of a residential boarding house with the added facilities that come with residing in an independent school. Conveniently located on the borders of Surrey and West Sussex, within close proximity to London Gatwick and London Heathrow airports.
We can offer a variety of immersion opportunities across the Caterham Family of Schools for ages 8 - 13 allowing visiting groups of pupils to immerse themselves into British school life and create connections with local full time pupils during the school day.
Immersion programmes aim to:

At the end of the school day pupils can enjoy a tailored evening and weekend activity programme making use of the onsite top class facilities plus there are opportunities for trips to famous landmarks in the surrounding areas

The visiting immersion pupils will have sole exclusive use of the boarding house at Copthorne Prep School throughout their stay which can board children up to the age of 13. With boarding for up to 50 pupils across two floors we can accept varying groups sizes
Copthorne Prep School can provide part or full time immersion programmes on site for children aged 8-11 alongside opportunities to create your own programme in a private classroom block for your own exclusive use.

Immersion opportunities are available at the Hawthorns School for ages 813 Pupils can take the private school bus to and from Copthorne Prep School each day and there are options to do a part time or full time immersion programme during your stay.
SAMPLE TIMETABLE
Pupils will study a variety of subjects, such as English, Maths, Science, French, Geography, Art, History, and Design & Technology. The lessons are crafted to be interactive, sparking each child's enthusiasm for learning and encouraging them to connect with their new classmates.

There are limited number of immersion opportunities available at Caterham Prep School for ages 8 - 11 and Caterham Senior School for ages 11 - 13.
Pupils can take the private school bus to and from Copthorne Prep School each day and there are options to do a part time or full time immersion programme during your stay
ACCOMMODATION
A HOME FROM HOME
The accommodation at Copthorne Prep School has a total of 50 beds situated in the main school building across two floors. Set within the picturesque grounds of the school, the boarding house provides a comfortable and well-equipped space for pupils to call home. Copthorne Prep School has separate boarding wings for the boys and girls and each has it’s own dedicated lounge area.
Pupils will benefit from a range of facilities, including spacious common areas and exceptional recreational facilities. Our on site caring and experienced housemistress creates a warm atmosphere and acts as a point of contact for you during your stay.
Bedrooms have between 2 to 6 beds per room and bathrooms are shared. Adult accommodation for your staff is also provided.

MEALS
All meals will be served in a dining hall and prepared by an in-house Chef.
Pupils will be offered a varied and healthy menu with options from around the world, as well as staple British meals such as a Sunday Roast and Fish & Chips.
All menus are nut free. Other dietary requirements can be catered for.
The schools’ experienced catering teams have a wealth of knowledge and have been catering in schools for many years.
Breakfast will be served at 7.00am.
Snacks will be served during break times.
Hot lunches will be served at 1.00pm and a salad and fruit bar is available.
Hot supper will be served at 6.00pm.
PUPIL B
Before pupils arrive, they will be paired up with a British pupil from their chosen School, who will act as their ‘Buddy’ for the duration of the programme. Pupils will have the opportunity to get to know their Buddy through a welcome video before they arrive in the UK
During the school day, pupils will join lessons and have the opportunity to make new friends as well
AT THE END OF THE PROGRAMME
Pupils will:
Receive a certificate of attendance.
Take part in a celebration assembly
Have the opportunity to stay in contact your ‘buddy’ through emails to school
Take away any special awards or prizes gained during the programme.

Immersion into your chosen schools timetabled lessons MondayFriday with a welcome assembly, buddy introductions and a leaving ceremony at the end of the week.
A branded school rucksack with water bottle and pencil case
An iPad for each pupil to use during lessons.
Private minibus transport to and from school if required
All bedding and weekly bed linen changes.

100% immersion
Immerse into the full school day Monday - Friday including after school clubs from 8am - 5.30pm.
50% immersion
Immerse into the school for mornings only, Monday - Friday from 8am2pm Run your own programme in the afternoons using Copthorne's classrooms and facilities.
50% immersion plus English
Immerse into the school for mornings only Monday - Friday and then spend the afternoon in a private group lessons with a qualified EFL teacher for an intensive English course including after school clubs 8am - 5.30pm.
10% immersion
Run your own programme using Copthorne's classrooms and facilities and immerse into Copthorne Prep School from 2pm - 5.20pm including games and after school activities for one afternoon session per week Only available for ages 8-11.
