/ The highest number of hands played in one day Javier Tazon, nicknamed MuckeDBoy in the poker world, has managed an incredible performance, worthy to be listed in the Guinness Book, of playing the highest number of hands in 24 hours. Javier Tazon, coming from the Spanish city Santander, played non-stop for 21 and a half hours. In the mid-May, he triumphed with a new world record, by playing 52,220 hands without interruption. The previous records was 50,470 hands played by Joe Ingram in 2009, after 20 hours and two minutes. Before him, the record holder was the Russian Innerspy, with only 40,000 hands. MuckeDBOy set the new world record at the PokerStrategy headquarters, where he also teaches poker. His performance was broadcast on the internet, to be able to certify the record. On his Twitter account, he reported playing at 24 tables simultaneously. The Spanish player confessed that it was not an easy thing for him and, at one point, he was very close to dropping from this race. „I was one step away from giving all up... Luckily, I managed to rally myself and actually did what I had been planning. I am really proud of my performance”, stated Javier Tazon.
