On March 20, Lucian defended his IBF world title at the super-middleweight category for the seventh time in a row, when he won in front of the Irish Brian Magee, by a technical KO in the 10th round. In Bucharest, on July 9, Lucian Bute managed to „save” his belt for the eighth time in a game against the French Jean Paul Mendy – a KO in the 4th round. On November 5, the super-middleweight world champion, the IBF version, won before the Jamaican Glen Johnson in 12 rounds. Aged 32, the great Romanian sportsman Lucian Bute has 30 victories as a professional, out of which 24 are KOs and a defeat by KO.

Poker is still a hobby for me and hope to stay that way. ➢ People say that you taught coach Victor Piturca poker and playing strategies. Can you give us more details? No, no. In June, our magazine „Casino Life & Business Magazine” will hit the stands. This year, we are turning five years of our life, a time when quality has been our top priority, our topics of the largest interest, never talked about in our country. We were the first to publish the first glossy magazine about gambling, the first to award the annual prizes in the Romanian gambling industry, the first to put together an international mega-event, to organize a super-beauty pageant that full proved that the Romanian girls both have the looks and the wits.

The other side of the medal is the possibility to lose the same amount of money in the same short time, which the beginner players think hard to cope with. It is worthwhile mentioning that in no-limit, a raise should be at least as twice as higher than the last bet made by a player during the current betting round. For example, if a player makes a bet of 5, the first player to go for a raise will have to drop at least 10 in the pot.

LIMIT In limit Texas Hold’em, players can only bet a fixed amount in every betting rounds. This betting form is appropriate for the beginners and the flop will be visible in very many hands. During the first two betting rounds – pre-flop and post-flop -, the players can bet or raise only in consecutive multiples of the small bet, while for the last two betting rounds, the bets and raises are made in consecutive multiples of the big bet. Another thing to remember that at most three raises can be made during each betting round. No matter which type of Texas Hold’em selects, you need to adjust to it, as each game has different strategies and optimum approach methods. Sometimes, the correct strategy in Texas Hold’em nolimit is exactly the opposite of the

correct strategy in the limit Texas Hold’em. The biggest difference between the two is how the game is being approached. For example, let’s say you have A J, and the flop shows J 9 4. In limit Texas Hold’em, you want to bet and give raise and re-raise as much as you can; if you are playing no-limit Texas Hold’em, it is harder. You have a pair, but if someone has something higher, you can lose whatever you have. So, with the no-limit Texas Hold’em you have to be more careful. During limit Texas Hold’em, the moment you reach the river, it is normal to become aggressive. Should you think you have the best hand, bet once more. What can go wrong? You are just losing a game, not a big deal. But in the no-limit Texas Hold’em, you can lose everything. Even though you think you have the best cards, it is not true most of the time. Sometimes, it is better to give check and win what is already on the table.

Bluff-ul in limit and no-limit Limit Texas Hold’em is perceived as science, while no-limit Texas Hold’em is more like an art. At limit Texas Hold’em it is harder to bluff. Chances are that the opponents go further as it will not be a big loss. It is rather difficult to intimidate and fool the adversary during limit Texas Hold’em. As for the no-limit Texas Hold’em, you can bet everything you have. This is really scary for anyone at the table.

~n acest num\r v\ vom prezenta formalit\]ile de `nregistrare pentru a participa la jocurile de noroc organizate prin intermediul sistemelor de comunica]ii de tip internet, sisteme de telefonie fixa sau mobile. Pentru a participa la jocurile de noroc, un juc\tor trebuie s\ fie `nregistrat la un organizator de jocuri de noroc. ~n vederea `nregistr\rii, un juc\tor furnizeaz\ cel pu]in urm\toarele date cu caracter personal: numele, prenumele, cet\]enia, locul [i data na[terii, adresa de domiciliu, codul numeric personal (CNP), adresa de email valabil\, num\rul [i seria documentului legal de identificare [i detaliile unui cont bancar personal prin intermediul c\ruia se vor efectua transferurile `n/dinspre contul de joc ce va fi deschis la organizatorul de jocuri de noroc respectiv.

This issue will introduce to you the registration steps for participating in gambling organized via the internet-type communication systems, hard or mobile telephone line.

In order to participate in gambling, a player must be registered with a gambling organizer. For registration, a player will have to provide at least the following personal data: full name, citizenship, place and date of birth, current residence, the CNP (personal identification number), a valid email address, the number and series of the legal identification document and the details of a personal bank account where all the transfers will be made to/from the gaming account opened with the particular gambling organizer.

La primirea informa]iilor furnizate de juc\tor, organizatorul de jocuri de noroc va efectua verific\ri `n registrele proprii privind persoanele autoexcluse [i `n lista persoanelor indezirabile, pentru a se asigura c\ juc\ torul respectiv nu este `nscris `n acestea [i va `nregistra definitiv juc\torul, pe baza unui cod unic generat de sistemul organizatorului de jocuri [i transmis ope-

In case the gambler is not mentioned in the list of self-excluded and/or the list of non-grata people, and he agrees to all the terms and conditions of gambling, then he will be opened a gambling account. After filling in the personal data, should the player is not able to provide a copy of his legal identification document, the gambling organizer will open a temporary gambling account and notify the player about the fact that he is supposed to send a scanned copy of this document, within maximum 30 days since the temporary registration date.

The temporary account opened in the name of the player can accommodate a maximum amount equivalent to 500 EUR. No payments are allowed from the temporary account into the bank account of the player.

The gambling organizer will turn the temporary gambling account into a permanent one only after receiving the scanned copy of the playerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s identification card.

Should the player provides false information about the registration or he does not provide, within 30 days, the documentation required for verification of the information validity, the gambling organizer will close the temporary gambling account.

A temporary gambling account cannot be opened for a player who is mentioned in the register for selfexcluded or in the list of non-grata people.

Organizatorii de jocuri de noroc p\streaz\ datele cu caracter personal ale unui juc\tor `nregistrat timp de 5 ani dup\ ce contul de joc a fost `nchis, cu respectarea prevederilor Legii nr. 677/2001 pentru protec]ia persoanelor cu privire la prelucrarea datelor cu caracter personal [i libera circula]ie a acestor date, cu modific\rile [i complet\rile ulterioare, [i ale Legii nr. 506/2004 privind prelucrarea datelor cu caracter personal [i protec] ia vie]ii private `n sectorul comunica]iilor electronice, cu modific\rile [i complet\rile ulterioare, iar apoi [terg datele respective prin proceduri automatizate, ireversibil.

The gambling organizers store the personal data of a player for a 5-year period, after the gambling account has been closed, in compliance with the Act 677/2001 regarding the protection of the people in terms of processing their personal data and free circulation of them, with the further amendments and additions and with the Act 506/2004 regarding the processing of the personal data in the sector of electronic communications, with further amendments and additions; afterwards, they will irreversibly erase the data by automated procedures.

Etapa a treia a sezonului doi de turnee PokerFest a ajuns, în premieră, în orașul de la poalele Pietricicăi. Turneul a stârnit un deosebit interes, un număr mare de jucători înghesuindu-se să intre în competiție. Norocosul câștigător al turneului PokerFest de la Piatra Neamț a fost Robert Cezărescu. Nu doar numărul, ci și nivelul întrecerilor a captat atenția jucătorilor care s-au înscris în competițiile Supersatelit, Side Event și Main Event. Robert Cezărescu a preferat să meargă la turneul PokerFest de la Piatra Neamț, lăsând deoparte European Poker Tour Berlin, din Germania. L-a învins la heads-up pe Narcis Olaru, încasând un premiu de 25.500 de euro și, evident, cupa turneului. RobertCezărescu a reușit să-și păstreze poziția de chip leader obținută pentru Masa Finală și a transformat-o, printr-un joc atent și chibzuit, în poziția de câștigător al turneului de la Piatra Neamț. Deși a jucat în fața propriilor suporteri, Narcis Olaru a trebuit să se recunoască învins, mai ales că în heads-up mâna care a câștigat turneul a fost o chintă royală. Nacis Olaru s-a ales cu locul doi, intrând în posesia

unui premiu de 14.800 de euro. Lucian Ungurianu, clasat pe locul trei, a plecat acasă cu 9.850 de euro.

18 jucători au intrat în premii Turneul PokerFest de la Piatra Neamț s-a desfășurat la hotelul Central Plaza. Au fost, în total, 204 înregistrări în turneu și 18 jucători care au intrat în premii. La acest festival a avut loc și o premieră, Masa Finală fiind transmisă live, fără delay și fără holecards. În ciuda unor probleme tehnice cauzate de conexiunea la internet disponibilă în hotel, transmisia a fost una dintre cele mai reușite și, probabil, până la evenimentul de la București, totul va fi aranjat astfel încât să putem urmări un livestream la nivelul celor de la marile turnee de poker din lume.

The third stage of the season two in the Pokerfest tournaments reached, for the first time, the city at Pietricica foothills. The tournament enjoyed an extraordinary interest, as a large number of players were packing to enter the competition. The winner of the Pokerfest in Piatra Neamt was Robert Cez\rescu. It was not only the number of players, but also the level of the contest that appealed to the attention of the participants, who registered for the Supersatelit, Side Event and the Main Event. Robert Cez\rescu chose to list himself for the PokerFest tournament in Piatra Neamt, leaving behind the European Poker Tour Berlin, in Germany. He won by heads-up against Narcis Olaru, cashing in a prize of EUR25,500 and, sure enough, the tournament cup. Robert Cez\rescu managed to keep his chip leader position for the Final Table and commuted, thanks to a prudent game, to being the winner of the Piatra Neamt tournament. Câștigătorul turneului a fost Georgian Bălu, care s-a luptat la heads-up cu Erwin Kuglis. Învingătorul a plecat acasă cu un premiu de 12.300 de euro. Erwin Kuglis, care a ieșit pe locul doi, a încasat un premiu de 7.700 de euro, în timp ce ocupantul pozi]iei a treia, Mihai Suditu, a plecat acasă cu un premiu în valoare de 4.600 de euro. The Main Event at Deva ended with the victory of Georgian B\ lu. He succeeded to gain over experienced players and get hold of the prize of EUR 12,300. The Deva tournament took place during 16th-20th of May, at the Wien Hotel in the city. This was the fourth stage in the second season. The final table had Narcis Olaru – the POY leader in PokerFest, Florin C\lin – the champion of the Ploiesti stage and Marius Volovei – champion at ClujNapoca. The tournament winner was Georgian B\lu, who reached headsup with Erwin Kuglis. The winner left home with 12,300 euros richer. Erwin Kuglis, who had placed second, gained a prize of EUR7.700, while the third place player, Mihai Suditu, cashed in an amount of EUR4,600. There was a premiere at Deva, namely the prizes for the side events.

Besides the money payoffs, the winners also took home a trophy.

Small number of players Seventy nine players were present at the Main Event in Deva, a number much below the expectations of the organizers. Nevertheless, the tables gathered most of the people who are regulars for every stage of Pokerfest. Even though the tournament was scheduled to end on the 20th of May, the final table was played the night before, due to the small number of participants. The total pool of prizes at Pokerfest Deva was in the amount of EUR38,300.

On May 11, in Ploiești took place the official opening of the 4th Cash Pot slot room. Six Buddhist monks in South Korea were taped while playing poker for money. During the game, which lasted for 13 hours, they had bet not less than 600,000 euros. The six monks were scheduled to attend the funeral ceremony of another monk. The previous night, though, they gathered to have the fun of their life. They smoked, drank and played poker. A local TV station in South Korea broadcast the taping, which stirred up a huge scandal. The six Buddhist monks played poker for 13 hours and their bets amounted to 600,000 euros. The game took place in a five-star hotel in Seoul. The Jogye Order that the monks caught red-handed belong is the largest in the South Korea. It has 12 million members, meaning a fifth in the country population. The Order is as old as 1,200 years. After the tape with the Buddhist monks playing poker had been out, Jaseung, the leader of the Joyge Order issued a public apology.

Javier Tazon, coming from the Spanish city Santander, played non-stop for 21 and a half hours. In the mid-May, he triumphed with a new world record, by playing 52,220 hands without interruption. The previous records was 50,470 hands played by Joe Ingram in 2009, after 20 hours and two minutes. Before him, the record holder was the Russian Innerspy, with only 40,000 hands. MuckeDBOy set the new world record at the PokerStrategy headquarters, where he also teaches poker. His performance was broadcast on the internet, to be able to certify the record. On his Twitter account, he reported playing at 24 tables simultaneously. The Spanish player confessed that it was not an easy thing for him and, at one point, he was very close to dropping from this race. „I was one step away from giving all up... Luckily, I managed to rally myself and actually did what I had been planning. I am really proud of my performance”, stated Javier Tazon.

Tribunalul București a acceptat cererea de intrare în insolvență a restaurantului Casa Vernescu. Compania Queen Investments Inc., care deține și Casino Palace – care funcționa în aceeași incintă cu restaurantul, a depus o cerere de intrare în insolvență. La data de 21 mai, firma Queen Investments Inc., care operează Casino Palace din București, deschis în 1995, a depus o cerere de intrare în insolvență. Această decizie vine la numai o lună de la anularea licenței de operare a cazinoului și închiderea localului din cauza unor sume restante la bugetul de stat. Comisia de Autorizare a Jocurilor de Noroc a decis, în 4 aprilie, anularea licenței de operare a prestigiosului cazinou și a închis localul de pe Calea Victoriei. Cu toate că reprezentanții firmei obținuseră în tribunal redeschiderea cazinoului până în iulie 2012, compania a cerut, prin intermediul companiei Stănescu, Miloș, Dumitru și Asociații, insolvența. Casino Palace, care funcționa ca și restaurantul, în Casa Vernescu, situată pe Calea Victoriei nr. 133, face parte din firma Queenco Leisure International, care deține mai multe cazinouri în Europa (Grecia, Rodos, Belgrad și Praga). Sala meselor de joc din spațiul de pe Calea Victoriei mai fusese închisă și anul trecut, după ce comisia CAJN a constatat că numărul locurilor de joc a scăzut sub pragul minim legal de funcționare. Potrivit legii care reglementează organizarea și exploatarea jocurilor de noroc, cazinourilor din București trebuie să aibă minimum 12 mese de joc, din care cel puțin 30% trebuie să fie mese de ruletă. Firma figurează pe lista ANAF, la data de 31 martie 2012, cu datorii de peste 200.000 de euro, cea mai mare parte reprezentând contribuțiile de asigurări sociale datorate de angajator.

Casino Palace has filed for bankruptcy The Court of Bucharest has accepted the request for bankruptcy of the Casa Vernescu restaurant. The Queen Investments Inc. Company, which also owns the Casino Palace – operating at the same location with the restaurant, has filed an application for bankruptcy. On the date of 21st of May, the company Queen Investments Inc., which manages the Casino Palace in Bucharest, opened in 1995, filed a request for bankruptcy. This decision follows the one-month license cancellation and closing the site due to some debts to the state budget. The Commission of Gaming Authorization decided, on the 4th of April, to cancel the license of operating the famous casino and close the location in Calea Victoriei. Even though the company legal representatives had obtained in court the approval to re-open the casino until July 2012, the company requested bankruptcy, via the St\nescu, Milos, Dumitru and Associates attorney-at-law office. Casino Palace, at the same location with the restaurant, in Vernescu House, 133 Calea Victoriei, is a part of the Queenco Leisure International Company, which owns more casinos in Europe (Greece, Rhodos, Belgrad and Prague). The hall of gambling tables in Calea Victoriei had been previously closed last year, after the CAJN Commission had found that the number of gambling seats was below the legal threshold. According to the law that regulates the organization and exploitation of gaming, the casinos in Bucharest should have at least 12 tables, with minimum 30% for roulette games. The company is on the ANAF’s list, with dues in the amount of EUR200,000 on March 31st, 2012 – where the largest part is the social insurance contributions that were supposed to be paid by the employer.
